Summer Magic

Well, I don't have a GSD, but my daughter has a dog that loves his toys way too much as well. She just keeps the old needle and thread handy for the stuffies and only buys the hard plastic balls that that are big enough that he can't get his mouth around them to pop them. As far as the stuffies are concerned we don't buy new ones, we frequent garage sales and get used ones that are a quarter or fifty cents a piece, he's just gonna shredd them anyway so why pay a lot for them. She makes her own tug toys with roping and tennis balls purchased at the hardware store so they are very inexpensive and always has a basket full of injured woobies that need repair.

Magic just loves a good butt scratch. In fact she will turn around and back up to me so I can get a good hold of her rump and scratch just at the top of her tail.

I was messing around in the kitchen trying to find a way to make a snack that I can take out of the house using sweet potato. I came up with this, Magic loves them..... Quarter a sweet potato cut into really thin slices. Arrange the pieces on a large cookie sheet. Sprinkle a tiny bit of garlic on the slices. Bake at 250 till they are dry and crunchy,takes two hours (could be longer depending on the thickness of the slices make sure they are very dry) Store in the refrigerator in a zip lock bag.

Well of course they're expensive, they were developed by a dentist and a Vet. Have you ever experienced an inexpensive trip to the dentist or the vet??? I haven't yet, and if you do let me know which one you use. It'll be worth the plane fare to get there. I can't explain why dogs go crazy for them but they do, Magic gets two a week and I don't give her any more than that or she will throw them up....(gotta be the chlorophyl in them)
