  1. It is always fun to meet fellow breed lovers!
  2. That is kind of scary. They don't have one that looks like Scout either.
  3. Cute stories! I have a quick one. The other night we were laying in bed and Scout was laying in between us. Kasey started telling him that he needed to go lay on his bed so Mommy and Daddy could go to sleep. Scout looked at him and put his paws over his ears. I thought we both were going to wet the bed!
  4. Scout sleeps on his back all of the time. I have never seen a dog so content to lay on his back. In the morning, he sleeps on his back, under the covers with his head on my pillow. It is so cute. I have a picture on my camera, I'll post it later.
  5. Yesterday was such a beautiful day so we decided to go on a motorcycle ride. Scout was going crazy that we were leaving without him, so I put him in my coat and we took him around the neighborhood. I zipped him up and he LOVED it! I thought as soon as we started it up, he would get scared and not want to go but be didn't. We went really slow so he wouldn't get too windblown, but is that a bad thing to do? I know he had so much fun just snuggled in my coat, but I am not so sure that is a good idea. Any opinions for or against? Hey, what about those googles? Who was that that had the picture of those?
  6. Yea Crystal! You know what we want now. . .pictures! Congrats on the new pup!
  7. I think my dog would eat his way out of a wicker crate. Just something to think about.
  8. Yeah HF! Congrats!
  9. Glad to hear Paddy's ok.
  10. Oh, poor Pixie! I hated watching Scout trying to do anything with his e-collar on. It made me so sad. Him trying to sleep in his kennel was the worst. Everytime he would move it would scrape against the side. We decided that while he had it on, he could sleep in our room. Guess where he always sleeps now? Here's a hint, the kennel is in the shed
  11. Voted!
  12. Hmmm, I think I'm going to leave that one alone. Nevermind, I don't care that much.
  13. Thanks for the info. I was thinking that it was a little higher than humans. What is the best way to take a dog's temp?
  14. Ok, Kasey and I got to thinking and I know this is kind of a stupid question, but what is a dog's internal temp? You know how a human is always 98.6, my dog always seems a lot warmer. Just curious.
  15. Before I found Scout, I was set on naming my little dog "Wolf" because it is such an oxymoron. When I got him, it just didn't fit. I also thought about Czar, and Maui. Speaking of dog names, my husband's friend just named his dog Paul. He thought it was so funny to give a dog such a regular human name -- it was funny for about 30 seconds and now I think it is stupid.
  16. Scout's tail is ALWAYS curled up over his back so when he wags his tail it looks like he is trying to swat a fly of his back like a horse.
  17. My brother in laws mom told me about Hydrogen Peroxide, but she said a lot of times it doesn't work very well. I stayed up with him until about midnight and he was acting completely normal. Extra hyper if anything. No belly ache or anything. I think I got enough in his stomach to make it pass through easily like Carol said. Regardless, we made Scout sleep in the kitchen last night just in case he threw up. He cried and scratched at the gate and somehow (you should have seen the contraption we put up to keep him in there) he jumped on my bed at about 2:00 this morning. We cannot figure out how he got out. He must have been a determined little guy. This morning he is just fine, like nothing ever happened. It is a good thing I don't have a sickly dog. I got no sleep last night because I was so worried and not to mention, I felt pretty guilty.
  18. I took Scout's box of stuff (halloween costume, extra leash, etc) down off the shelf today and put it on the floor. I forgot to put it back up and within 15 minutes Scout found his anti-inflammatories from when he got neutered. I thought he was chewing on his little fire hydrant, but he chewed open the bottle and ate 2 and a half tablets. Child proof caps DO NOT mean dog proof. I immediatly called my brother in law whose mom is a vet in CA. She was in a meeting so I called my vet and they told me I could watch him or bring him in and make him throw up (which would cost $150). Anyway I got a phone call back from Carol (my bro in laws mom) and she told me to feed him ice cream, milk, and bread. She said he might have an upset tummy, but unless there are repeated doses of 10 times the normal dose it shouldn't be a problem. She is the most knowlegable, thorough vet I have ever met. She asked me 10 times as many questions as the vet on call did. I wish she was local because I trust her explicitly. It is so nice that I can have her as a resource for times like this though. He is acting totally fine and he ate it about an hour ago. Sometimes I feel so bad that he has an owner, who, despite my best efforts still does stupid things!
  19. Voted. I will vote again when I get home.
  20. Totally off the subject, but I have to say thanks for directing me to that site! I shop at the Anthropology store, but have never shopped their website. Hmm, this could be dangerous.
  21. Yep, Scout has to sit on my lap.
  22. What a cute puppy! Congrats! I like Lilly.
  23. Fingers crossed. Good Luck!
  24. I have been feeding Scout twice a day. I give hime half right before I go to work and the other half when we eat dinner. Lately he has hardly touched what I give him in the morning (maybe a couple of bites)and eats all of it when I put more in his bowl at night. Should I just ditch the morning feeding? Scout is about 8 months and has been doing this for about 3 weeks.
