Brindle!

Pug puppies and Bull Terrier puppies in the same thread. Forget the brindles-show some more puppy pics
2.
Posting pics of cute dogs, accusing other posters of being full of crap, and being in denial of the problems aren't going to solve things
And who said they would? Do you think the Pit Bull issue is going to be solved on a messageboard? And who here is denying the problems Pit Bulls have? I have not seen one Pit Bull owner here deny the problems. As for posting cute pics...what-we aren't supposed to post pics because it "doesn't solve anything"? I'm trying to understand your point Nic-but I'm just not getting it. Is your point that Pit Bulls are in trouble? If so-gotcha-I know. Is your point that instead of posting cute pics we should be beating our breasts and crying to the heavens? Is your point that when someone says something deliberately to misinform we should keep our mouths shut because it makes us look bad to stand up for ourselves or the breed? I'm not a doormat. If someone says something I don't like-I tell them. You have no problem with some of the things that are said even when you know they are lies or misrepresentations? Well good for you that you can keep your calm and say nothing. By the way-playing nice and keeping your mouth shut is not going to help this breed either. Don't worry about me knowing about the Pit Bull "problem" I get phone calls all hours of the day and night. I get phone calls from as far away as Canada and Italy for chrissakes. Now since I know about it and deal with it in my "real life", I don't think it's too much to ask that when I come to a messageboard and post a cute pic of my Pit Bulls-it can be seen as just that-a cute pic. Without having to post a disclaimer (will you be doing that as well Nic since you do post pics of yours together?), without having to listen to a constant barrage of comments about how "Pit Bulls are circling the drain" or that "Pit Bulls are doomed". Everyone should have the right to post pics of their dogs without being harrassed for it. Pit Bull owners as well as everyone else.
3. Ya beat me to it Sarah :D I thought I had read somewhere that the name started out as "Blooded Hound". Found this http://www.treehound.com/treehound/html/majestic.html
4. and I have to admit that I can no longer roll my eyes at people that mistake Danny for a Boxer. He does look like that one a little :o

Brindle!

My neighbors had Shepherds when we were kids. They look so different today. Great old pics of them :D
6.
I just hope you don't mind being treated like a second-class citizen by your own dog when you have guests over!!
Ain't that the truth plaurent  Tank can be sitting on my lap looking up at me adoringly and if someone comes in, he tosses me aside like an old rag. Then he'll go sit on their lap and I cease to exist until they leave. Debby-I also have a very dog aggressive Pit Bull that has to be kept separated. Tank-the one in my avatar with my neice Marissa. Guess Primmy's dogs get their quality time with her while she's pecking away on the computer annoying people
7. I think that's the newest addition; Harry the Malinois...Looks like the Pit Bulls are already showing him how to act for the camera
8. Yes-I absolutely agree that a lot of what Primmy says is accurate when it comes to Pit Bulls. After all-she learnt it all from doing what she is doing here  It's the spin and nuances she puts on her posts when describing them. THAT is what people object to-rightly so in my opinion. Terms such as murderously aggressive, brain damaged, describing Pit Bull owners as sociopathic losers, etc. It's not what she says a lot of the time it's how she says it. And she is perfectly aware of what she is doing. And this is my last post on Primmy. After hearing the same old stuff from her for the past 3 years-I don't find it hard to ignore her. She enjoys the attention too much for me to be willing to give it to her
9. My experience with Pit Bull puppies-even puppies who have matured into dog aggression as adults is that they do understand dog behaviour. As puppies, they display submission, know to leave the older dogs food alone, know that a growl from an older dog means to cut it out and they listen. It's when they grow into adults and start to display dog aggression that they start ignoring signals other dogs give. I don't believe that they suddenly "forget" the behaviours and what they mean. I think they "choose" to ignore them.
10. It's all a matter of opinion. My personal belief is that they can read other dogs-but choose to ignore it. The desire to fight is stronger. It's all just conjecture-as close as we are to our dogs, we sometimes can't read their minds :) And it's not just Pit Bulls who do it and not just Pit Bulls who will continue to keep fighting a dog that is clearly showing submission.
