I have a fila mastiff and started having problems with her front legs. They bowed out and she was in pain. The vet said it was from growing too fast. We gave her 10 days of Rimadyl, switched her food to adult food from puppy, cut down on her food and limited her exercise. She was NOT allowed to run or jump for months. It causes stress on the bones and joints. She recovered nicely and we have no problems now. Her legs straightened and the pain was resolved. I would definantley limit the exercise. Good luck.

I agree with the hamburger and rice. Rice is great. You can also use the baby rice cereal.

Such a beautiful little fluff ball. I have a mastiff and a boxer, so I am used to the BIG short haired dogs. Your pup is adorable.

My vet had us to switch from puppy to adult food for our mastiff at 5 months of age. The puppy food has a lot of protein and our pup was growing soooooooo fast.

Oh.................I wish we had a dog park. The closest thing we have is our 3 acres that is fenced but with an electric fence for the goats :-?

I feed Diamond lamb and rice to the mastiff, and diamond puppy to the boxer. We live in a rural area and Wellness, ect are not available here. I cant always drive an hour to buy food, so have settled on the Diamond brand. Diamond is also the maker of the Chicken Soup line, but our stores dont carry the CS line.
