This is so Darling...I think that according to each of these tests almost all dogs are Pits! Wait till my mom finds out her Golden is a Pit!! LOL Way 2 cute! :lol:

Hmmmm- you said it right!! I wish people would stop ruining the pit bull!! This is really irresponsible but I do not think that this person is going to abort the pups so I think that we should just help make the pups as sensible as we possibly can. :roll: And perhaps educate the owner (who I do not think is coming back) Thanks rowie it is definetly way 2 cute!!

Though I think that changing your name would be wise since you now know what dogo members consider a BYB :wink: As for what I have to say on this matter...we have a golden that everyone says is really pretty. She has a great personality (it is the perfect personality of a Golden), temperment, and is in good health. We are thinking about having 1 litter and keeping one pup ourselfs. We are going to have spay/neuter contracts (even if the pups will have to sell for less) We are going to have the mom certified on ALL health checks and the stud dog to. The puppies will come back to us NO MATTER WHAT. We are going to check and make sure the family will provide a good home for the pup and If we end up having to keep more than 1 that is the responsibility of my family as the breeder. At first I did not want to breed her and take away a chance for a shelter dog to die. But I relize people do want purebred dogs. I want to adopt a dog still but my mother said that she wanted to breed our golden and I agreed as long as we do the above ( and absoulutley no CHRISTMAS PUPS!!) This is still up in the air but if we do breed I am suggesting that we go to the rescue and adopt a dog also. My mother has agreed that we will only breed once no matter how fast the pups sell and no matter how many people want another one. So I am not for just breeding two dogs that have never had any tests and are not going to better the breed. If you are in it for the money then you do not deserve to own dogs at all. I also belive that the breed you choose to breed,you should know everything you possibly can about it. You have to be willing to spend money and do the surgery if a pup will not survive without it. I am for the mutts to! To many die each year and we do not need BYB selling bad dogs who to will end up there. I do not think that I ever will be able to make points like some of you....someday maybe!!

Ohhh just a thought... You can rig some sort of contraption. Take a basket or plastic box with lid, cut a hole big enough for the mail to fit through and then screw it to the door so that the mail will fall in and then when you get home you can open the lid and get your mail in one peice. I have read that dogs do this because they do not like things entering there house. Although Zoie is probably doing this to annoy mom... :lol: Could you put a mailbox outside your house and block of the slot? That would be the simplest soulution...that way you do not have to explain the box screwed on the back of the door to all your guests... :P Ohh I reccomend you stop pulling your hair out... we do not want a bald Naomi :o :o :wink: !!

Well I just read this one and I will have to agree it is to late to do anything about it now... All we can do is try and help this person in the best possible way...so that the puppies will grow up and hopefully live great lives. This happens on alot of forums and I am sure that it is not a first. I am also touchy about just breeding any dog and adding to the population of homeless animals...we all tend to jump to conclusions! Well the oldest living dog in the world (supposedley 27 years old) has been on a veggie diet for his entire life.... :o !! I think that dogs need meat to live a really healthy life. You could try this veggie food and mix it with the BARF or RAW diet...or the cooked diet. My Golden is on IAMS LAMB AND RICE FOOD...but recently I have read a few comments about IAMS... are there any good sites with info on them? I wish I could afford the BARF diet but I am going to have a hard enough time trying to convince my mother to buy a different kind of food....if I decide I do not care for IAMS anymore. The GL is suppose to just be used with the dogs mouth open so that they can still pant. The small peice of nylon is not going to keep a aggressive dog from attacking someone. I would reccomend a muzzle for that too. Rio'sMum

Well I have heard good things about the halti and the GL (gentle leader). I tried a GL on my golden and I thought it worked fine... we have moved on from it though. I have never tried the halti but am glad that it is working for lots of you. I am on another forum where lots of people use and highly reccomend the GL. There is a video for the GL...I will go see if I can find the website. Just remember these are training tools, they are not ment to be used for life. Rio'sMum

Stuffed toys!! Rio was not allowed stuffed ones when she was little because we did not want her to think that all stuffed ones were good. Later on though when we knew that she could tell the differance between them she got her soft squeaky toy, and it has been stuffed toys all the way! [img]http://www.petsmart.com/images/product/large/a204742.jpg[/img] The frog was her second one- it said RIBBIT RIBBIT RIBBIT and then it died... :cry: :cry: :cry: Rio would try to make it squeak day after day!! She finally crunched it so hard she shattered it in to tons of peices!! She loves plastic water bottles too...the noise is the best part!!

I have a friend who used jingle bells and tied five down a string and hung it by the door so that it was a little ways below the dogs nose. The dog bumps it with her nose and makes it ring. I guess you could use paws too.
