1. I wish your Leather will live BEYOND the average. I had a dog, mixed bred, called FuFu, lived with us for 13yrs. Just before I was about to leave to Uk for postgraduate, he had a very bad kidney problem. Although stabled after many medications, he still passed away 3 days after I left home for UK. I was crying to death when I heard of the news. He was the kind of dog when I stayed watching TV for "too long", he would go to my room and sit beside my desk ..."Hey, enough TV, now time for homework and readings!". More strick than my parent. When I finished my PhD, in the thesis I dedicated my work to my parent and FuFu. What I learned from FuFu is ... it is darn important to keep dental hygiene of your dog! I brush Wolfie and Blondie 2~4 times a week now!
2. Hi wolfsoul! Your pets are amazing! A super-mixed Timber. Your Leather is totally beyond my Wolfie. And how about your Sarah and Icarus! Are they aware of their natures at all? :drinking: Share your "training" secrets to us! I have tried many times to place cookies on top of my dogs' nose. Blondie just ate the cookies and peacefully waited for the next one. Wolfie ... the cookies never got close to 1 ft of her befoer she jumped to swallow them!
3. You have very beautiful dogs! Wolfie (my Aussie) wants to say to Leather: Letting cookies on you nose and not swallowing it in a milli-second is BYEOND ME! Tell us more stories about them!
4. Anyone favor me? Blondie the Golden retriever mix. 5. What a beautiful and touching legend! I will always educate my children to love and care for our pets on this legend. It also very sad to think about that in the "beginning" men and dogs shared respects and honor pact together. Now, so many news just suggest that men are keeping dishonor this "pact" and therefore losing their own respect to animals. I will have to go back to pet more on Blondie and Wolfie. And so they will get more spoiled
6. I taught Blondie "Gun Shoot" trick.. it sounds horrible, but actually very cute  I pointed my index finger at her and say "Bang Bang" and she would lie down and roll over to belly-top position. And... OF COZ! Treat for a trick! My fiends they all love to "shoot" her :drinking:
7. There is an online store PetShed.com that requires no vet's prescription to buy drugs like Heartguard. Also I found their fleas control drugs ar the cheapest. It's an Australia company. Of coz, use your own judgement to buy the medications.
8. Pit Bulls are undergoing "systematic and organized" massacre and breed cleansing in this continent, mostly promoted by the mass media and helped by the government. I cannot bear to imagine people abusing and killing these tail-wagging defenseless and helpless pit bulls. Just too many sad sad stories around them... for pit bulls, "Such a grand big world, there just no place for me to stand and live?"
9. Oh.... it's beyond me to use any word to describe how sad and sick I feel.... Can GOD out there doing something on these people-YOUR very bad creations???
10. A puppy KONG toy propably will do... My Wolfie (6months) loves to have it especially when I stuffed things - like her dry foods, cookies, peanut butter - in it. She will try hard and spend times to get the treats out. I think it is also a good brain trainier.
11. What I found is the "prescription" drugs - like Heartguard - and other non-prescription drugs - like Frontline or Advantage - are extremely more expensive if buying from vets than from online stores. For example, when Wolfie was just adopted and tested to have ear mites, the doctor gave us Tresaderm for about $19, while later I found on one online store it costed only $9.9 a bottle! A whopping 47% discount! Someone is seriously wanting to get himself/herself another BMW!!!
12. Just added Blondie and Wolfie pics onto the Pictures forum! Go and see them!
13. My retriever mxi Blonde has a special appetite for my... Orchids !. During her puppyhood, she had destroyed three Cattleya and two very expensive chinese orchids in ONE day. I remembered that day I left het in the backyard alone for doing her own business and fresh air. Half hour later, I found her surrounded by scattered orchids leaves and she WAS chewing my chinese orchids' roots! She seemed enjoy a lot the fat juicy roots the orchids had. That day alone cost me more than $200! Vote as one of my most memoriable day  Other "cliche" type destruction I am not bothered to list, such as Dr. Martin boots, Kraft cheese, Honda Accord rear bumper, Giant bike tire, Netflix DVD as frisbee, Half of my wife's made birthday cake for me.... :evilbat: Jeeeze! How can I still crazily love her like I did for the past 1 and half year?
14. Hi everyone! This is my first post on this forum... only foudn this wonderful place yesterday. I just adopted "another" puppy - an Aussie "Wolfie" - from Houston SPCA last month (adopted a retriver mix "Blonde" from CAP last year). I start to worry about getting them a real good vet. My own experience when brought them to two "brand-name" pet hospitals in Houston was not excellent. They were brought to the hospital just for annual vaccinations and check. But, the two hospitals gave me a "chain restaurant" type of feeling. You know, when you get to McDonald or Wendy's, you will get what you ask for... nothing more nothing less. PLAIN business transactions. I was hoping to have a family doctor type vet for them. So, what's your experience when visit a vet? Or, if your are in west Houston, can you recommend me a good pet hospital?
