Spikes? :o :o :o :o Wow!! I can't picture a dog climbing an 8 ft wall unless they're part wolf. Those have been known to climb them.

It sounds like you're on the right track and using a very good technique. Let me know if you have success with it at the end, and I'll start using it with Lady. She goes bezerk when she sees other dogs at the park. I wish she would just sit and look at them, and not try to run to them.

We still mourn his loss but remember the good times, of which there were a lot. Here is a memorial I wrote for him right after he died: You've been gone only 2 days and we miss you so very badly. Tiny, you were such a feisty little fellow, with such character and personality. We'll miss the way you would "crawl" with your little hind legs behind you and put that beautiful little innocent face when you were naughty. Tootsie will miss you a lot also, you were her constant companion. We'll miss the way you guarded the house...you took that job so seriously. Overall, we'll just miss you. We love you and hope to someday reunite. It's going to seem like forever. You leave us with one of your most beautiful legacies -- BUFFY. Dreams do come true. I dumped my high school sweetheart (after dating him for a year) to marry a jerk; after we got divorced, my high school sweetheart and I reunited and we got married 1 year ago after living "happily" together for 16 years. Ideally, I would live on a 10-acres farm with 10 dogs, 3 cats, 2 horses plus a maid to take care of the house so I can play with my pets. Ideally also, my website (Cutefamilypets.com) would become internationally known and my forum activity would sky rocket. Dreaming is wonderful, isn't it?

I don't like the way they shave those Poodles. I don't really think it makes them look cuter. :( I had a black Poodle growing up and never did that to her fur -- but then again -- she wasn't for showing.

Sharp little teeth, aren't they? My suggestion is to do what I did with Lady -- yelp!! Really loud and then walk away. She would get this puzzled look on her face as though saying: "What did I do wrong?" After a few days of doing that, she got the message. But make sure you yelp [color=darkred][size=6]REALLY LOUD[/size][/color]!! That's actually how their mother teaches them not to play rough or bite.

It's a good beginning. I like the colors you selected and that picture is adorable.

Congratulations for being a good pet owner and doing your homework so thoroughly. There's not much that I can add other than what everyone else said. I also feel rescue is the way to go, but if you absolutely must have a puppy, make sure it's from a reputable breeder who can vouch for the puppy's health and temperament. Let us know what you decide. Would love to see photos.
