1.
Where is this place?
It is in Maryland, about 45 mins from St. Michaels. It was a nice campground, but I almost felt guilty going there with Jake our YELLOW LAB, who they just loved  It's called Holiday Park Campground and it is along the Choptank River.
2. Awww, sounds cute!! I bet Ben was wishing he was as brave  I can't keep Jake out of the water!! I have to block our pool or he would be in it all day (and then getting the house wet from by the way of the doggie door  )
3. So sorry :( Run free Ariel
4. We are going camping this weekend and wanted to be up on the rules because we are bring Jake. So........ take a look! Pets must have proof of current vaccination for rabies. AT ALL TIMES pets MUST be on a 6' or shorter leash, attended, and cleaned up after. (Carry a clean up bag when walking your pet.) Excessive barking is not tolerated. Owner may be asked to take animal home if the above rules are violated. Exotic animals and dogs of the following breeds are not permitted: Doberman, Rottweiler, Boxer, Mastiff, German Shepherd, Airedale, Chow, Staffordshire, Pit Bull and any mixed breed of the above. I was really shocked!
5. First, I must say that I have really enjoyed reading all of these posts!! Okay, now my story.... I can remember being a little girl and getting a puppy from the icecream man. I guess he was giving them away and my brother and I convinced mom and dad to let us have one. Well, mom wasn't great at training dogs and just left him chained outside most of the time because he was BIG and wild!! (of course he would be) I was given the job to feed him on day and can remember the poor thing being so excited that he, his name was Tiny, jumped on me and knocked me to the ground. I think shortly after that my parents gave him to some people on a farm. Or, that is what they told us!! So, I thin that is one reason I have always loved big dogs. It broke my heart when Tiny went to the farm. That had a huge impact on me and have never forgotten it (and I was very young... maybe 5 or 6) So, when we got married we got Trixie who was a GSD/Sheltie mix and fell in love. She was the best dog in the world!!!! Everybody loved her.... this is going to make me cry  . I miss her.... Any way, Trixie was getting older and we knew we could NOT be without a dog, we heard about a liter of Chocolate Labs from a co-worker of mine. We went and met ALL the dogs and fell in love!!! :iloveyou: Daisy actually picked us!! She made her way over to us and we were hooked!! Trixie wasn't happy with her new sister at first, but grew to love her. We thought it was Trixie's time again, and decided to make it easier on the kids and us we should get another pup. That's when we got Chelsea. I fell in love with her face over the internet. She was posted on the Sommerset County, MD humane society's page. I thought she looked like a lab mix, and after having Daisy for a few years, grew to love the breed's real character. When Trixie traveled to the great dog park in the sky, something came over me and I had to have another............ I really grew to love the lab breed and decided I needed one of each color. That's when we got Jake!! Labs do it for me!! They have such personality and are BIG dogs with big hearts!!! I know I will always have one, or two.... at least :D I will never forget my Trixie..... she will always be my favorite dog, if not my favorite breed. She has a very special place in my heart and her ashes are on our mantle and will always be.
6. You have to do what you know is right in your heart!! Some dogs can only be ONLY dogs. I am having a similar situation, but not to your extreem. Just try to place her with FULL disclosure to a home without other dogs. That will be the only way you will feel good about it. Good luck, my heart goes out to you!!!
7. Wow!! Great job all over!! Makes me want to do the same!! I think Chelsea would be excellent at agility! Coal looks wonderful!!! Love those eyes in the tunnel picture :D
8. :o too funny!!!!!!!
9.
Gee I always heard it was the poodle
Me too  As for the BC's I'm pretty sure Chelsea is at least mixed with that, and she is pretty smart, but I think my labs are smarter
10. That is sad, but look how much kindness there is in this world!! He was trying to help, and in turn, now after all the sorrow, people are helping him and his family.
11. Awww, love that smile!!! Happy Birthday Elmo!! :bday: His name fits his picture!! So cute
12.
I'm Canadian, so I use duct tape
That cracked me up!! Didn't know it was a Canadian thang :D I don't let my dogs on the "good couch" but always seem to find Jake's hair all over it (it is dark green with dark blue and burgandy stripes and his hair is blond!!!) I'm going to try the glove trick because, I think it has a lot to do with static and I can see the rubber gloves working. Thanks
13. Wow :o I want to come  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTIE :bday:
14. Whew, I'm tired just reading all that!! I know what you mean though. I'm very luck that my Mom lives with us and the girls are older. So when we go away, just me and Joe, I have a lot of back up :D The problems arise when we all go away together, which doesn't happen much any more
15. Wow, my three would never leave food for a walk!! Well, maybe Chelsea would. We have a little routine too. Jake sits by the door while I prepare their bowls, most of the time he tries to come in, but I make him wait at the door and stop if he comes in. He is a little food aggressive and that's why I do this. Then, I make Daisy sit and give her food to her first and then to Chelsea, after she sits and then to Jake, who is FOLLOWING me the entire time.... Then I make him sit and give me a "high-five" (which is the cutest thing - it is a two paw) and then he eats it all up before I can even have time to walk away :-? My guys eat twice a day too, but I call it dinner both times (just easier for them.....) Chelsea and Jake both lick everybody's bowls afterward... just in case :D
16. So, what is going on with this now????? Have you reported the owner? I think that after knowing all the details.... I would report them too!!
17. I have never heard of this food. Is it on the new side?
I have a dog food grade sheet, if you're interested. I could post it here, or email it to you. Let me know.
I would be interested in seeing it. Yes, please post it. :)
18. No, you're not the only one who thinks that is wrong!!! I would have to know though, how long the dog was out there, and if he had water and etc. If the dog was just let out for air and it was a short period of time, I don't think that is wrong. If the people left him there while they were at work all day, than that is a completely different story!!
19. This is the greatest!!! http://www.jakeandelwoodshouseofchews.com/ I found this site from a local radio station site. They are having a FREE concert with Pat Benetar on Saturday, and we are going. So I was checking out the sponsors and found this!! What a great idea!!! 20. There's always somebody around to tell you you're not doing something right :-? Don't ya just love it?
21. God Marion!!!! What a "tosser" I really like K's reply. Be honest with the old creep!! Or just say you don't appreciate his comments.... Or, bring the spy glasses out before you take your walk :o Just remember, he is only one person with one person's opinion... Chalk it off to bad breeding and don't let him spoil your day!!
22. Great Job Cassie!!!!!!!! :bigok:

24. Awww.....so cute!! Yea 15 minutes of doggie fame!!
25. Cassie, thank you very much for the great advice. I do some of your suggestions already, but will make a point of trying the rest.
The one thing I have learned from having a multie dog house hold for many many years is that getting excited or upset can esculate a fight. Some of the worst dog fights I have seen is when an owner gets upset, alot of dogs assume the owner is backing them up or joining in
This isn't a problem thank goodness! She just runs and hides behind the table, and knows what she did was wrong. I will be more positve with her in the sweet voice, it does seem to work with her, but it is hard to remember all the time when I'm over tired, frustrated and stressed  Thanks for the help, I really do appreicate it  I will check back on this........ of course, I am running again Thanks!
