Had no idea I would miss my dog so much
Micheline099 replied to Micheline099's topic in Everything about dogs
She is back. Now wearing a pink pyjama. with a hole done at the rear end so she can do her business. She is still very sleepy. Apparently she will be this way until tomorrow. The bill was for 321 and some cents. (Canadian) They also repaired a small umbelical hernia plus the neutering. -

The vetenarian's clinic suggested the pyjamas. They told me this morning when I brought her so that she would have her pyjamas tonight when I go back to get her. According to them, it is much more confortable than the collar and does the same thing. A bit scared about her business though don't know how that one is going to go. -

Sorry to hear your dog was sick Carol, Hope everything goes well and that the other vet bill is more manageable. Vet help the dogs but they financially kill us poor owners... LOL... I have to laugh at this one or I will beark in tears.     Maybe if I say and do it often enough, I will be ok....   -

Tought so. But it is too late now. Another thing that makes me wonder. I had to go and buy baby pyjamas for her so that she will not lick her stitches. I don't have a problem with that. my problem is how is she going to do her business through the pyjamas? I AM NOT GOING TO CLEAN SOILLED PYJAMAS. How did you proceed with your dogs? -

She is a Japanese Chin. A little thing that weights 9 pounds. :D -
A few days ago I wrote this forum saying that if I was not able to get my dog housetrained I would have to give her up. Well, I brought her to the vet today to have her neutered. Now, (and it has only been a few hours) I reallly miss her. She is not trained yet, we are still working on that. I hope it will come soon but, I don't think I will be able to get rid of her. :o Just tought I would let you know that. The only thing is I did not know that dogs were that expensive. Now that I have one, I have to afford her. But, when I bought her, I had no idea it would be this costly. Am I being had by the vetenarians or is it realy this costly? (322.00 Canadian dollars, just for today's operation. that does not include the vacines etc that I payed before) I am by no means trying to say that she is not worth every penny. Just wish I would have known before getting attached like this. TOO LATE NOW..... I LOVE HER. :D

I saw on a dog show the other day. (The lady had the same problem you have, about the barking I mean) The vetenarian said to have the radio playing in the room where the dog is left. So that he/she don't feel alone. Apparently, one of the reasons that they bark is that they feel alone and want company. The radio should be at a talking station rather than music, so that the dog can hear human voices. Apparently it works. At least it wouldl be worth a try and wuld not cost anything nor would it harm the dog. For the chewing, could she be teething? Ice cubes did it for my dog. Just a suggestion.

 Cute but not too practical :D

No accidents in the crate. She usually goes by herself to a secluded area, not necessarily the same all the time (when she goes in the house) Just an example: This morning she woke me up while she was in her cage, I took her outside and, because it was raining (at least I think that that was the reason) she did not go. I waited for 15 minutes, then brought the cage downstairs in front of the patio door, put her in it and left her there. She will be in the cage for about 1/2 hour and then I will try again the same procedure. I am really trying for her to be housetrained. Is this an OK method?

In response to your questions: 1. Water: She gets water all day except after supper when I give her ice cubes instead if she is thirsty. 2. Doors: Leaving by the same door might be a problem here. She goes in the backyard which is accessible through the patio door. We leave for our walks through the front door 3. Sure hope it does not take a whole year to potty train. You have not seen the winters here. The poor little thing will freeze. She better learn to go as soon as the door opens. 4. Where she goes in the house: Never at the same place. I clean it 3 times. Once with detergent, another time with vinegar to remove all odors, and a 3rd time to rinse. (I am going crazy here) Another thing that I have not mentioned: We have a cat. Could this have an impact on her. The cat and dog totally ignore each other. Hope this answers all questions. If you have others, do not hesitate

How about burring the hachet? I really want to keep my dog; it is just that that will not be possible if she does not learn to be housetrained. So, pleasssse help me. I tried to answer all your questions, if you have others, please post them and I will try to answer a.s.a.p. She is: Japanese Chin, 7 1/2 months old I have had her since May 5th Love her very much and she likes me too. Here is the day schedule (at least most days) Posted: Fri Sep 13, 2002 4:42 pm Post subject: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you, I will try the bell. My dog is 7 months old as of September 5th. She is feed in the morning after her first pee. Potty time: Out (in the yard) as soon as I get up. Anywhere between 5:30 and 6:00 a.m. Then she is feed and we play with her until around 7:00 7:30 a.m. then I take her to the yard again for her poo about 15 min. She sometimes does not poo. (Then it is in the crate until around 11:00 11:30) She sleeps most of the time from 8:00 to 11:00 anyway, so I don't feel guilty letting her in her crate. I then take her out for a walk. About 30 to 40 minutes. After that she drinks and goes back to sleep in the crate. We go for another walk and play in the p.m. She watches TV with me and sometimes goes to sleep in my arms. Maybe this will inform you all better and thus you might be able to give more tips on how to avoid misapps. The only time this shcedule changes is When I am sick When I have to go to doctors When I have to leave the house At those times, since we are in summer and the temperature is very mild if not hot, she stays in the yard. (She would be able to stay in the house if she was older and clean) REMEMBER, IF YOU NEED OTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT ME. I would not want any more misunderstandings.

I am sorry, I don't want to offend anyone. I am very hurt. I see that everyone sticks together and I feel like I don't have a chance nor the capacity to explain my side. Don't worry, If that is what you all want, I will leave the site and probably never return. Too bad, because this looks like a nice site but I don't feel welcomed. I don't want to hurt anyone, Just want the people to know that they have hurt me deeply. I am not a bad person, I was just misjudged and yes as per usmcbyrd and Hobbit, I did the same thing and jumped to conclusions too. Sorry for that. I am still hurt but don't want to hurt others.

I know Imjstadog that not all of you are like this. That is why I am still on this website. The help that the others gave me should be quite helpful. I am trying the leash and will go and buy a bell tomorrow. Thank you to those who care, and a wish a bit more compasion to those who don't care. You seem a nice and understanding person Imjstadog. (Even if your writing is sometimes difficult to read  ) must be the big paws.....

Up to this e-mail mei mei I was fine. Well at least a bit better. I am sure even you (whom I don't know but to me seems to think she knows everything about humans. Maybe I am wrong at least, I hope I am wrong. If you feel bad about something, why not write to them or at the very least ask before trying to insult and hurt them. Things would go a lot better around the world if people acted kinder and did not jump to conclusions all the time. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE ASK Plus, like the people I talked about this around my place. If I was mistreating dogs like you seemed to imply, I would not have came to this site for advise, I would just have gone on mistreating/getting rid of my dog. Just the fact that I was asking for advise, is proof that I needed help not insults. STILL HURTING. But I don't think you would care because I am not a dog. Micheline

Thank you for your suggestions, I feel a bit better now. You guys had me crying (I was under the impression that you all tought I was mistreating Chin Chin) I would never do that. She is just beside me watching me type my answers. LOL.... In answer to your question K, a doggy door is quite impossible. I live in Canada and the winters are ferocious around here. That is another reason I want Chin Chin to be potty trained before the winter. I would like for her to be able to go asap so that she wont be too cold outside while she does her business.

:-? I had a problem with my dog. Since this is the first dog I ever had and I love her a lot, I tought I could turn to this forum for advise. After all, you all are dog owners and should or at least I tought you would know more about dogs (maybe you do and it is about people that you don't know a thing about) I love my dog, I love the fact that she follows me and I am no longer alone. I just don't want to hurt her and because she follows me like she does, I came really close to hurting her a few times. (I way 210 pounds and she is barely 7. If I inadvertdly step on her, I could really hurt her. After reading that, most of you game me hell. You are a buinch of inconsiderate people who cannot see the human side of anything. My dog is not mistreated, she is spoiled and I want to keep it that way. I tought that you might give me tricks so that I can protect her. Instead, most of you chose to give me hell and make it sound as if she was the most mistreated dog around. SHE IS NOT MISTREATED AND I WANT TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. Thank you for nothing. I will try to get my help from someone who really cares and can read...... BTW MY DOG IS 7 MONTHS OLD. NOT JUST 8 WEEKS. From a dog lover WHO LIKES HUMANS TOO.
