Yesterday my mother, grandfather, and I went to a shopping centre close by to get my grandfather to move his legs a bit. Anyway, in the bulliten board there, they usually have adds of dogs in need, or dogs for sale, or dog supplies for sale. I was reading when met by a lot of surprises. But first, for those of you that don't know, I live in Bahrain, a dog loving community, but depends on where you live. It's a few kilometeres off Saudi. In Bahrain, we have very little dog supplies, our dog foods are only the cheapest they can find (Pedigree, Iams, Eukanuba), and if you want a pure bred, your best bet would be to import from another country. So, I read the board, and I met one of the biggest surprises of my doggie life! Bahrain actually has a REPTUBLE kennel! I was so surprised! Now for you, it may not come as a surprise, but Bahrain has NO breeders, only BYB and Puppy Millers. Rowie was an import from Thailand, just to show you how Bahrain has NO breeders and kennels. And she's a Golden Retriever! This Kennel was a Havenese kennel/breeder. They seemed nice! :) They seemed like GOOD breeders. I was shocked, and when I told my mother, she told me:"You don't think Bahrain is THAT un-doggie civilized do you? Of course there are breeders here, if you look hard enough!" Well, mom, you could have told me that when we where looking for a Golden Retriever! :roll: Second surprise: There is a real, live, SHAR-PEI in Bahrain! Now THAT came as a shock, being as rare as they are! This poor 5 year old Pei, 'Sunny', is looking for a home, as his owner is leaving Bahrain... :( I hope he finds a home! So, Bahrain may have even MORE doggie citizens then I thought! I guess I should look harder! Maybe I should start a club? I already did for the kids at school, but what about breeders? And people who AREN'T in my school, or are adults? It's an idea.... Another thing I noticed in this amazing journey of discovery (aka Shopping Centre! :lol: ) was a GOOD food brand. I'm not sure of it, but I heard it being mentioned here on the forum... It's "Go!", the canadian brand. Rowie's old dog food, was also candian. But then, the Pet Store stopped stocking it because of the war! :x So, should I slowly introduce "Go!"? Wow, quite an amount of discovories for one day, eh? :) I should go to the Shopping Centre more often.... Rowie :angel:

I agree with Cassie, maybe your best bet is IVD. Sonce Ben has allgergies, I guess it's your best bet! Pedigree, yuck! I understand that you cannot get him anything else, but maybe you could buy something off the net? Oh RnP, I know what you mean! :roll: Rowie would WALK through a thunder storm if I let her! During storms, I check up on Rowie, and she is either looking outside, or sleeping! :roll: Which is weird since I heard dogs are scared of storms, especially lightning! Rowie is one of the bravest dogs I have ever met! Once in obedience, this trainer was testing the dogs on something, I'm not sure what it is called, but it is used in agility. Anyway, all the dogs where REALLY scared, and I mean it! NONE of the dogs crossed it, so when it was Rowie's turn, I was really scared, but she just crossed it as if it was nothing! That's my baby girl! Ahhh, Rowie! :roll:

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yesterday Claire's called, and told me they called thier manager, and that I could pick up my diamond on saturday!! So, today, I went to Claire's, and the lady was really sweet and asked if I was excited and etc... Then the manager came with two plastic kind of bag things with earring diamonds and a diamond pendant in it!! So, they told me to choose, and I chose the earring, because two is better than one! :lol: LOL, just kiddin', but it did look better!! Here I am, typing, with two diamond earrings on my ear!! And the best thing is, my cuzin came back from Scotland (where he's studying) and they invited me to come over to see him. That's not the good thing, they have a Digi Cam! :D I'm not sure of a date, but I will ask if I could take a picture of the earrings, and post them here!! :D I'm so happy, I've never one anything in my life! :D

Welcome!! :D I LOVE Sloughis! They're in my dog book, and I've researched on them before, too. I think (If I can remember) they originated in Africa, and where used to guard the villages. I agree, they are a little on the thin side, but they are BEAUTIFUL! :D Living in an arabic country (Bahrain) we do have alot of thin dogs, as most are Saluki mixes. My beloved passed away four legged friend was a Saluki mix. I've never seen a Sloughi before, but I do know that some arabs here use them for hunting, truly an amazing breed.... :) Hope to learn more about you, and your doggies! :D Rowie :angel:

He's been at the shelter a long time, and is a Blood Hound mix, although he looks pure! I think you should take her to the vets straight away!! You never know what it might be....
