just thought i would stop in and see how some of you were doing. i see k is still here. is there anyone else? im getting ready to deploy again, more fun in the dirt. bruiser is still the worlds largest acd. he is 90lbs. thats one fat dog, actually he is all muscle. he is a handful. anyhow, all you old people, not really old but you know what i mean, drop me a line. see ya.

my red heeler passed away about a month ago while i was on the boat. i dont want to discuss all the circumstances, i just know she is in a better place. that was my little dog. i will never forget her and she will be missed forever.

thanks to all that helped. this has become a dead subject with my wife and i. we are going to handle things the best we know how. thanks again.

thanks a lot foster and carolk9s. i appreciate the help. anything that anyone can give is much appreciated. it seems to me that experience and others experiences are the best teachers, so i guess ill learn. i appreciate the fact that you have an acd so you know how much they can be sneaky and smart. therefore you understand a little more than some. NO OFFENSE MEANT TO ANYONE AT ALL.

by the way bk, thank you for the idea of the acdl thing. i didnt know about that group. do you know the website for them, or how to join?

i opened up this topic knowing that someone would tick me off, but i figured it would be about my dogs not my personal life. im sure im opening up a can of worms but as im sure you have already figured out, i dont care. to clear things up, that question shouldnt be asked unless it comes from an adult and they pm me about that and ask me in a caring fashion. that seemed more like an insult. im sure in the he!! not going to put my business out in the open for anyone to comment on anymore than i already have. i will say this and i dont give a dam@ if i offend anyone in doing so, i wouldnt spend and large sum of cash on a dog (not saying its just a dog) for someone thats just going to tell me that my dog has personal problems. screw that. thats what i meant when i said we dont have the money to blow on a behaviourist. like i said in my last post, thats why i ask you guys. i dont need a behaviourist when its free on here. i try to save money as much as i can so i will have a little egg for my kid. i dont have a doubt in my head, and again dont care if someone is offended by this because i really believe it, if it comes down to getting rid of my dogs or having a kid, my dogs are gone. no its not just that easy to get rid of my dogs but at the same time i wouldnt even dream of not having a child because someone says i shouldnt get rid of my dog(s). im also quite apphauled that anyone would support her statement in question. im not out to make anyone mad but at the same time please do me the same favor.

well as expected since i am keeping such close tabs on this subject i did read eggs post and i am offended. dont worry about how i would manage to pay for a child. noone said i was having one tomorrow. the last thing im sure you meant to do was offend me. but i dont feel like explaining myself or any of my business to someone i dont know a dam@ thing about. for that matter someone that is half my age (i think). my dogs are in extremely good health as far as my vet knows. and as far as my money situation goes, NO i dont have enough money to hire someone to look at my dog for some outrageous sum of money. thats why i come on here, because most of the people on here might as well be behaviourists. hopefully i didnt offend anyone. sorry if i did. i just feel that overstepped my boundries.

thank you guys very much, my wife and i appreciate it. she is having a very hard time. the problem is we dont have ANY extra money to spend on a behaviourist or anything like that. we want to keep her very bad. she has been a very awesome dog. she listens like she is human and responds to every command. she is a one of a kind dog. im just so confused about what to do. something that might be helpful to all you experts is even though they have been together so long it seems they still havent figured out who is dominant. they still fight sometimes. she is fixed and he isnt so i wonder if that doesnt cause some of the fights. im not sure whats going on or what to do quite yet. i will figure it out but i hope you guys will help with advice or experiences. you are very appreciated. thank you.

we got our dog kenzie about one year ago. she is a 2 year old acd. she has been a great dog but unfortunately we dont know her past. about 4 months after we got her we decided to get bruiser. he was an 8 week old puppy when we got him. he has been an awesome dog and great companion. we love both of our dogs like they are our children. thats why this is so hard. since we had kenzie she has increasingly shown agression all the way around. she has twice now put bruiser in the vets office. once she gave him 22 staples she kicked his butt so bad. bruiser is 60 lbs now and we fear that he will take after this behaviour and either take it out on her or worse yet on one of us. today she bit me twice on the hand hard enough to make me bleed a little. it wasnt a normal bite, she looked me in the eye and shook her head aggressively when she bit me. i was very angry as you can imagine. we are now considering getting rid of her. we are going to start trying to have ourselves a little one, a human one, and we dont want to take a chance on her getting aggressive with our child. if she did i would be afraid i wouldnt be able to control myself and would kill her. this is a very hard decision so if anyone could help i would appreciate it. thank you all.

well ilive4rotties, you need to get your facts straight before you go of the deep end again killer. it sounds like you are the one in heat. maybe you should be desexed instead. if you are new here dont come in here and through your opinion around like you have been here for a long time. its a matter of respect. everyone on this board is very very helpful and very respectful of each other. if you want to continue to be a member maybe you should make sure you do the same.

i think SOME of the people on BB $uck. the ones i am talking about are Hmmm and all his little people. anyone who is openly claiming to be fighting their dogs on a dog forum needs to be shot. i would love to do it too. alright i feel a little better. is that good enough K?

i had the same problem about a month ago. but i only had that problem using msn as a browser. when i used netscape it kept me up to date. try switching browsers and see if that doesnt solve the issue.

alright let me get this straight. the golden is the new dog that doesnt bark and the dog you are getting rid of is the dog YOU have had for a year or so. your dog is the one with the barking problem, not the one you just got. i thought you were getting rid of the dog you just got, thats why i said give him a fighting chance. sorry for the confusion. i am sure that i speak for everyone when i say if you want our advice you have to clear up your story and tell us all the info. please give us some names so we know who we are referring to. i am sorry for your loss. i am sure its tough. -

hobbit you dont know what the HE!! you are talking about. just kidding, i thought it would be funny to screw with you since you thought you were going to get blasted. anyway i agree with you totally. there is no reason to get rid of the dog without first giving him a fighting chance to correct himself. keep the dog for at least a month or 2 and see how he is then. while the whole time you have him work with him constantly. just let him have breaks while you work with him. dont just throw him to the side because he is trying to protect you and your husbands wellbeing. -

i dont know if my advice is great advice or not but ill try to help. it turns out that i had exactly the same problem. we had a red healer that was 16 months at the time we got a blue healer. the red female named mckenzie is a very dominant dog. the blue healer named bruiser was 9 weeks when we got him. you wouldnt think that there would be much of a problem but after he started growing very quickly we started seeing a change in kenzies attitude. i think she started seeing him as a threat. when he was about 4 months old he was the same size as her so i think she seen him as a threat to her alpha rank. we left one day to come home to a little bruiser that needed 22 staples. long story short, she kicked his a$$ pretty good. now he is about 7 months old and 55 lbs. she is only about 33 lbs. so she doesnt mess with him very much anymore. i had to explain that to you so i could say my advice comes from a little experience. im by no means an expert. with that said, my advice to you would be to start showing your dominance with the new dog. speak up with him and be forceful with your voice. i dont know if this is right but i think that the new dog sees you as his bitch in the pack. there is 3 males and one female in the group and he is just establishing himself in the pack. thats just what it seems like to me. again i have barely any idea what im talking about. you have to show him that you are the boss. my wife had the same problem with both our dogs. they always listen to me but test her. since then we went to a friend of mine who is a k-9 cop instructed us how to properly train him so we have taken care of that problem. i have rambled a lot. i guess i should say this takes some time. just let him establish himself and dont forget to establish yourself too. this advice probably isnt what you are looking for but if you need good advice then you should talk to......well just about everyone on here. -
thats pretty funny deep. no i wasnt out beating up you family :D. why dont you go drown in all the rain there. pm me to tell me whats up.

thanks a lot hobbit. you are the man. now if you can only come up with a way to stop my male from trying to have some fun with his sister. but they are hillbilly dogs so i expect that. LOL

thank you very much for helping cairnmom, but its not that kind of creeping red. blue heelers can get this gene that causes them to turn somewhat red like a red heeler. the coloring just gets kind of messed up. i dont think its anything that will hurt him, we think its just a coloring thing. but what im trying to figure out is does this gene come with any other side effects, like will he be fully healthy.

the vacation was nice but it seemed like everyone and their brother wanted to see us and it had to be right now. it kind of sucked. wasnt much of a vacation for us. im more relaxed right now then i was on my vacation. i learned my lesson. the next time i go home i will tell everyone if you want to see me then come to my house and see me.

my wife and i went home on vacation and havent had access to a computer for about 3 weeks. it sucked not being able to talk to you guys. has anything new happened since i left. i dont feel like reading through all of the new posts (i guess the vacation got to me).
