  1. A few weeks ago(on my way to a rescue meeting) I saw a man walking a sheltie. This poor dog kept trying to lay down and the man kept jerking the dogs leash pulling the dog back on its feet. It looked like the dog was pulling away as far as he could then would lay down. The dog looked scared and the man seemed very annoyed and was not talking nice to him. I thought about stopping and asking this man if he needed help, but I was alone and was worried that the man may take his anger out on me. So I kept on driving, but I was still concerned about that poor sheltie. I was wondering if anyone else ever saw a dog being mistreated and stopped and talked to the owner about it. This man was not beating the dog in public or anything ,but I know this dog was very scared and not being treated properly. So what would you do? Wendy
  2. I would ditch the collar and get your dog a nylon one. Then wash your dog and see if the smell returns. If it does let us know. :D Wendy
  3. Right now Shorty is on a diet. He is eats Royal Canin Holistic kibble, green beans (no salt), low fat vanilla yogurt, and baby carrots. He gets 2 small treats a day which are Aunt Jenis natural homemade dog biscuits. The weight is coming off slowly just like his Vet recomended. He was not extreamly over weight, but I wanted to make sure he stays fit and healthy. :D I am also reading up on homemade natural diets for him. Wendy

  5. Hello everyone-I too rescued my dog from a County dog pound. Shorty is an absolutely wonderful boy and I am so thrilled that I found him. Since adopting Shorty was such a wonderful experiance I started volunteering for a dog rescue and have become involved in some other dog related projects. I want to give back something to the homeless and abused dogs that need a voice! Wendy and Shorty
