Poppy had a stroke - it was a Saturday afternoon, she fell over side way about 6 times- Our normal vet was off duty for the weekend, we phoned the emergency vet We then took Poppy to see her ( Poppy was almost 11 years old) The vet was a young girl straight out of vet school. She checked Poppy over said her heart beat was erratic. She gave us tablets to stop her having another stroke. She took the tablets for the rest of her life. She died at the age of 13 which is very old for a shap-pei
