1. Ok...I am not finished....I have writtens several letters. We need to call everyone to boycott EVERYTHING Korean!!! If this is their culture than it is a sick sick sick one! I think there is a special place in Hell for those who do this!
2.  I have not and will not look at the pictures...just the idea of them fills me with rage and tears! God help us that so-called "humans" would do this. There is just one word for it and that is EVIL!!!
3. :( Premarin is indeed a HRT. As to the treatment of farm animals, the problem lies with the factory farms which are pushing the family farms out of business. Please understand, I am sickened by what is happening in Korea and have written a protest letter on their official web site...which has material on this...some...which I refused to even look at...justifiying it as a "cultural" issue. Well, the South used to keep slaves, until recent time Blacks were told to go to the back of the bus.....it was part of the culture and it was wrong! Repugnant! Sick! What is happening in Korea is not a cultural things as some try to justify, it began during the war...and just has kept up! (I have read )
4. The Korean treatment of animals is repugnant and must be stopped. I have written them a letter. I would urge those of you who do not follow a vegetarian diet to consider;however, the cruelty inflected on animals in the US 1. Premarin is made from horse urine. The mares are kept in stall in which they can neither lay down or move. A urine collector is bound to the rear to collect the urine. It wears sores on them. The urine must be concentrated so they are not given enough water. The babies are sold to slaughter houses...often for meat overseas. 2. Veal calves are kept in crates in the dark, they are kept sick and anemic so the meat will be white. 3. Chickens are kept in cages so small they can not move are even spead their wings. Male baby chicks are thrown in the trash and oftena crusher as they are of no use. Producers regularly use a process called forced molting in which the hens are starved for several weeks to force them to molt and have one last egg cycle before being slaughtered. 4. Most farms see animals as factory units and treat them as such...that is why over 50% of the antibiotics in this country go to the livestock industry. Many animals are raised in cramped and confining conditions. (pigs, chickens particularly) 5. Those who work in slaughter houses estimate that up to 30% of the cattle are still alive and aware when they begin cutting them up. this is because the lines are running so fast...and why this industry has such a high rate of human injuries too. 4.
5.  What in the name of God is WRONG with these people! We should boycott anything to do with Korea until they stop this baribarity!
6. she looks like a case of animal abuse...or a very sick dog!
7. Here is a reply that I got...keep up the letters...groups like this do not like bad publicity...which they certainly deserve for this! From: Karen Yakovac [mailto:kyakovac@KIWANIS.ORG] Sent: Thursday, October 03, 2002 11:59 AM To: Johnson, Carol Subject: [Scanned] Dear Carol, Thank you for notifying us of Earle Bingley's situation. Kiwanis International is always concerned about the welfare of individuals and is in the process of attemping to gather the facts from the Kiwanis club that is involved with this particular Kiwanis apartment complex in Vancouver, British Columbia. While Kiwanis International is actively seeking to secure information about what transpired, a resolution of this matter rests with the club itself. All Kiwanis clubs are autonomous entities, which means that the International office has no control or operating authority over them.
8. This really makes me mad...what cold and heartless people..PLEASE sign!!!
9. welll....you won't me all alone as I have yet to decipher the mysterys of the new site..... I will try again...but think for now the choice is between a site maintained by string and tin cans (dogo) and one which requires lighting candles and midnite incantations to access! sob snifff...I am going to run away and join the circus!!!
10. :( I can't get on the Mania fourm...I am going to be all alone...wah....help.....
11. Maybe this is an x-rated Pauly Shore act??
12. The monster who did this needs a verrrrrrrrrrry long walk off a short pier. Creep does not do this troglodyte justice!!!!
13. :( sorry to hear of your problem...now if the real issue causing the murmur is a mitral valve prolapse...you need to insure the dog is on antibiotics whenever any procedure such as surgery or teeth cleaning is done.
14.  Sadly, the story about the dogs is all too true. Bin Laden's groups was experimenting with some type of neruotoxin..and they were using dogs. This is hideous both for the act itself and for what it portends.
15. :-? Oh....dear....this can some times be a hot topic. I would suggest that you answer these questions before considering being a breeder 1. Why do you want to become a breeder? If your main motive is $$$, please go into some other area....please don't breed. If you love dogs and want to truly better the breed and willing to take all the great advice some of our members can give you...go for it. (although IMHO...shelters are the best place to get a dog) 2. Are you willing and able to follow-up and insure the pups have a good home? 3. Are you willing to act...or take them back if the home is not good? 4. Are you willing to spend much time and effort learning ...not just getting two AKC dogs and telling them to have fun (and I guess technically I should say a dog and a bitch) Good luck to you!!
16. :( Sorry to hear your dog was sick. I seem to recall a vet telling me that there is a latency period on this vaccine and it does not protect for some period of time...think maybe a couple of weeks. Perhaps your dog was already carrying the virus.
17. :o Ok... do have a question about line-breeding. As noted earlier...I know NOTHING about it...all my furkids are "mutts"...and loved just as much as if they had just won Crufts....now hee is the question. 1. When you line-breed aren't you increasing the problems of genetic issues...matching recessive traits ...? 2. When you say line-breeding...what do you mean...how close...immediate family, the doggie equivelent of cousins ....???? Just wondering and would like to learn.
18. :x I have no idea if dogs should be line bred or not. I do know that I tend to have little respect for those who feel that cyber-yelling, anger and name calling makes their argument stronger. It just makes we wonder why someone doesn't use the space here to spell out their positions instead of resorting to calling someone a bitch. (and why is this type of personal attack NOT deleted?)
19. If you are not able to SPELL the breed's name...don't see that you should be breeding them. It is NOT Syberian.
20. Avalon Please do not worry about the biased and inaccurate ramblings of "guest". They seem determined to demonstrate their lack of understanding of many things. I am one of those horrid "animal rights" people...I know lots of others...and ...all of us have multiple pets...and NOT ONE of us wants to eliminate having pets. Animal rights simply means to most of us anyway (and yes, there is a radical fringe in all groups) 1. the right to be treated like a living creature..not a thing. 2.the right to live the life they were given 3. the right to NOT be born IF there is no home for them 4. the right to be treated with love, respect and dignity Now tell me Guest...just which of these radical concepts causes you the most concern.
21. :( Please please don't support those who propagate genetic problems and call them a breed. It is a tragedy for the dog...and those who get and then love a dog that just should not have been breed.
22. I always hate to hear stories like this. Here is what I would do....the man must live somewhere in the area....watch for him. I am not advocating you stalk the guy...just keep an eye open. If you then see abuse...report the jerk.

Boerboels

Here is the link where I found the comment. It was posted by a person who runs the web site Dr Carl's Dog page....you can get there by going to the botton of this address and just clicking on it. http://pages.prodigy.net/semencic/boerboel.htm I had the same thoughts you did as to what might have happened.

Boerboels

:( I know those who breed this dog were very angry with the guest who posted the negative comment about the boerboel. I can understand how upset you must be when someone states something bad about an animal you love and care for. I do believe it would be more productive to ask the guest where they got this information and why they believe that. Here is something I found on the web. I have no opinon...they look like wonderful dogs...but help us understand why someone somewhere feels otherwise (just like with the pits) There was a picture..but it would not paste: This is one of the first Boerboel dogs to come to the United States. It is owned by Dave Karson. When I took this picture this dog was a day shy of three months of age. It was 48 pounds already (out of a 160 pound father) and when I leaned over to pat it goodbye, it let out a huge roar, turned like lightening, and bit me. The Boerboel is a fine dog for parts of South Africa but city dwelling Americans, Europeans and Asians had better think long and hard before bringing one home. This is not a dog for "I want you to THINK I have a big, tough dog but we both know I could never really handle one", show folk. It's a serious, working breed.
25. I wish you well with your new dog...and urge you to please get it into puppy kindergarten....and then obdience school.
