2. :-? hmm...what site could you not reach? You don't need a password for www.putnampit.com. Let me know and I will pass it on to the above.

Jenna

She was lovely...how wonderful that your paths crossed...even if for not long enough!!
5. I know these are scary times....but I would ask all to not forget Patton...the dog shot by the trigger-happy cop. If what happened was not bad enough...he is now trying to slander the Smoaks!! Read about it at www.putnampit.com.
6. I live in Arkansas...a state not known for its high level of sophistication. I thought that it was certainly another red-neck "Arkinsaw" joke when I read about the duct tape. (which Wal-Mart has in large amounts by the registers!!) I can not imagine where this idea came from...but even in Arkansas we don't believe it will work!!
7. :( I am sorry that you are faced with such a hard task. God Bless!!
8. I love your dogs...so cute. NOW...has anyone spoken to the owner of the aggresive dog? I can see a tragedy here for all including the dog. Please speak up....perhaps if several of you did this in a caring and nonconfrontational way...it would work.
9. Well...they can get it caught on stuff...but most likely they would pull free.
10. :( Darn..the computer monster that has been lurking on this site ate my message. I agree with the response above. Officers are human and can make mistakes...but this department seems to make far far too many. They seem sadly lacking in both training and proper leadership. For their sake and everyone elses...they need some help in how to properly control situations with out causing tragedies!
11. :x Poofy You may think your remarks are supportive of the police...they are not. Check out the past actions of this sorry bunch of losers on putnampit.com. I support good officers...which most are....and that is why I hate it when a minority of buffons in blue smear the reputation of all with their negative behaviors. Most cops are fine...and they are the first to hate idiots like the Cookeville bunch. Since when is being drunk and taking a car for a joy ride worthy of capitol punishement? Two cars were chasing this guy and managed to run over him in doing so. They obviously were not in control of the situation...just as they were not when Hall shot Patton. The could just as easily run over an innocent by-stander. Wearing a badge is not a license to irresponsible actions.
12. This idea has to top the list of amazinly bad and potentially dangerous ideas. There are far too many stories of the predators on-line that disguise themselves behind a normal facade. Ask you mom to please not let these folks stay in your house. You might want her to post here.
13. You got me...I will go quietly...maybe move to Cookeville, Tn. You see....I could not sleep last night...not a wink...tossed and turned...glass of milk...still no sleep. THEN...I realized it was those darn barking dogs in Arizona....and I could just sense...them...pyschic I suppose here in Arkansas! :silly:
14. If you would like to get a picture of the quality of cop in Cookeville...checkout the latest story at www.putnampit.com A 20-year-old stole a car and fled with the police in pursuit. They ended up running over and killing the guy...NO doubt he growled and charged at them!! See extract of story below. This is from the Tennessee Highway patrol report. Blamy was the 20-year-old. According to The Herald-Citizen: 'The lead pursuing unit skidded to a final rest in the northbound lane," the THP report says. "Skid ding debris, vehicle number two [a police car] was unable to stop before traveling over driver number one [Blamy]."
15. The fact that Hunte and others of their ilk take "great offense" does not mean that what they are doing is not offensive. If they are not puppy mills...then what are they...what is the difference. A skunk is a skunk is a skunk.
16. :evilbat: :agrue: This makes me literally sick! Those animals are so obviously unsocialized and dirty......fill in the next few blanks with words that Newfie's mom won't let me use....but I bet she would think too!!!
17. :evilbat: :baddevil: I you go www.putnampit.com, you will find that the department is riddled with issues...to wit: 1. one off-duty officer shoot another 2. one picked up a female officer and threw her across the room by her belt and referred to her by a term usually reserved for female dogs. 3. the chief has used police computers for porno and has a number of other issues. What was the attitude of Good Morning America? I hope they did not tolerate his self-serving lies. By the way, the city has cut off their e-mails sites...I guess they are tired of hearing the truth about what a bunch of idiots are involved in this situation. If they has a shred of integrity, they would fire Hall and admit they were wrong...instead of continuing to back his lies in the face of a tape that show otherwise. Some one should also be asking WHY the Cookeville officers turned off their video cameras.
18. I have always dreamed of having a Newfie....and my second dream dog is a standard poodle. (wonder what THAT mix would look like :P ) HMMMMMMM...would they be Newoodles....or a Poofoundland...well back to my questions: 1. It is hot hot hot here...could they take that? 2. Also, being big, do they have a short life span?
19. I think you are very wise not to fly your dog. I have heard so many bad things...and not just talk and rumors...check it out at the ASPCA web-site. I do rescue work and rescued a pathetic looking pup...we thought he might die...due to starvation. He looks exactly like a long-haired rottie with a tail. I did research and found out that there are long-haired rotties...but not desirable as it is a sign of too much in-breeding. Question,,,do rotties come with a bobbed tail or are they clipped?
20. and here is more Computer enhancement of the audio portion of the videotape does not match with some accounts given by police officers of what happened. An audio analysis also found that: • No barking was captured on the audio track. Two officers said in their reports that the dog barked before advancing on Hall. • Pamela Smoak clearly warned police that Patton was not dangerous, saying, ''That bulldog is not mean. He won't hurt you,'' about 20 seconds before Hall fired. The audio portion of the video was analyzed by Doug Mitchell, an associate professor in the department of recording industry at Middle Tennessee State University, at The Tennessean's request. He has more than 20 years of audio engineering experience.
21. Here is part of a story about an audio analysis conducted bt an expert in the field. The Cookeville police officer who shot to death a family's dog Jan. 1 during a traffic stop did not yell ''get back!'' before firing, as he and another officer wrote in police reports, an audio expert said. Instead, Officer Eric Hall yelled as he fired the shotgun, killing Patton, the bulldog mix belonging to the James Smoak family of Saluda, N.C.
22. I am begging all to go to the website that the Smoak family has set up. There are two new stories here concerning a senate hearing about what happened. The senators expressed their outrage referring to what the police did. At least one felt the police are lying. Concern was also expressed about Hall's history of shooting others dogs. They also talked about the fact the tape caught him laughing afterwards! These stories are a MUST read!!
23. :( This is a heart-breaking call either way. One part of us wants to rescue the poor little one in the pet store...but if we do....what will happen...more will be bred and we can not rescue them all. The best way to rescue the most puppies is to boycott these stores. These people are not in it for love of animals but love of the almighty dollar. Once it is not longer a market....then the mills will close. Remember, 537 animals an HOUR die for lack of a home...that is 9 every minute. Nine animals have been put to death in the time it took me to write this and you to read it. IMHO, there is no excuse for animal-selling pet stores and buying from them just continues their market in pain and misery.
24. There is a wonderful picture of Patton on the new web site the family has set up. He looked like a boxer to me. http://www.pattonsmoak.com
