My Mastiff wakes wtih this drawn out wretching sound.

I have a beautiful, healthy mastiff named Zak. He is a 200lb. male in excellent health. The last week or so he has awoken with this long drawn out kind of yawning/wretching sound lasting about 5-6 seconds. He already snores louder than anything you could possibly imagine, but this is quite normal . It does not seem to bother him, but it sounds strange and scary. It has never happened before, but now I've heard it 3-4 times in the past 2 weeks. Anyone have any idea what this may be from??? :oops: Thanks, Brian

maybe his throat is dry? If he's snoring, he's probably sleeping with his mouth open.

Sounds feasible, but is is like a continuous yelling like sound only when he's sleeping. Thanks for response. Brian
