I've had my dog for only a couple of months. He's either 6 or 7 and was a rescue dog.

We just started going to the dog park, and until the past couple of days, he was fine with everyone. Yesterday he attacked another dog and it happened again today. One of the men there said he was being too protective of me.

Is there anyway that I can put an end to this? I'm home with him most of the time, I have other pets (cats, birds, fish and gerbils). He's not fixed yet, although after christmas he will be. I've tried to get my husband to interact more with him but he doesn't.

Please give me some advice.

Altering should help a great deal!

I would probably skip dog park until his surgery.

Also, being a confident leader also helps!
