Sash has no stones, masses or other icky stuff in her bladder, so now the vet is doing a sensitivity culture to isolate the cause of her infections so she can be treated with meds.
Yay!!! Thanks for all your kind thoughts.
And also, this means five days til Baxter day! :D
Everyone (non dog-owners) think we are crazy for adopting another one and have even said mean things like "Okay, it's official, you are now The Crazy Dog Lady". I think that is really mean. How should I handle this?

i think you should act crazy -- really crazy like start playing with knives and such haha. who gives a crap what they say/think! flip em the bird when they say that. the dogs bring you happiness not these buttheads! my goal for myself is that when my dogs go to the bridge they will be able to say to the other dog souls 'i had the best life any dog could hope for' seriously i wouldn't give their criticism another thought.

glad sash is clear on stones. hopefully they will isolate the infection and give you antibiotics that will kill it!

well are they really serious when they say you're crazy? or are they more joking about it? if they are serious then they have a problem and you might rethink hanging around them.

some of my friends call me fanatic or dog crazy or whatever but they are really joking about it so i grin and don't give it another thought. i am crazy about dogs.

First of all, I'm so happy about the news on Sasha! Yay!

Second of all, I got the same "you're crazy" when I was going to adopt my third dog. I got it from non-dog people and dog people. But once they realized how committed I am to giving special homeless dogs a forever home, and how committed I am to my dogs' happiness and well-being, they quit saying it. If this is what you really want (which is obviously is) then you just have to do what's in your heart and to hell with the naysayers! That's what I did!

I like Mei-Mei's approach.
I also sometimes like an unblinking, unamused, cold stare. I reckon sometimes people just think they're being funny, and stone cold silence with an unamused stare often makes them realize how stupid they just sounded. Imagine the awkward (for them) silence. With eleven dogs in my house right now, I've gone waaaaaaaaaay past Crazy Dog Lady. Nobody even bothers with wisecracks now. Hey, maybe that's the answer? Just keep acquiring dogs until no one is surprised. :P

Yay for Sasha! :)

Yay Sasha!

As for those remarks I agree with Mei and HF! I've told my aunt and grandma similar things. They had a fit when we got Cinco and again when we got Lizzie. "Know what my parents told em? They maybe just animals to you but to us their kids with 4 legs,a tail, fur and they bark/meow to communicate and they AREN't going anywhere! Either you can just not bother visiting us anymore or you could put up with them for the time your at our house..."

They took the latter :D
