Hip hernia?

On the paperwork that the people who gave up the kitty we're most likley getting, they said that she has a (from what we can read) "hip hernia from birth". Any idea what that is? My dads calling our vet today to ask about it, but who knows when that will be! lol. Wanted to know if its something we should watch out for as she grows and whatnot. Thanks! :D

Oh shush you, hip hernia's could happen in dogs too.. I think.. soooooo!! It does belong here! And cuz it gets more lookin at here. So ... THERE! :P :lol:

My dad called the vet, and she said it's actually a hernia in the abdonmen *near* the hip. She said that if its been fixed, thers no problem, it isnt life threatening or anything. If it hasnt been fixed, it should, or else it could rupture and that'd be baaaaaaad.

When we were there today (we wanted to go and Scott had to see her within 24 hours of filling out the app.), we asked the vet tech who was there about it. She said it was in her abdomen (you could feel it if you tried), but nothing too serious. She said that when our vet spayed her, they would take care of it then.
