Okay, first thing today was Jackie and Maya came downstairs when I was on the computer. Pooh Bear didn't come down. So I went upstairs, and guess where he was. ON the dining room table! And I had a bunch of stuff on the dining room table that he was getting into. I guess that means I'll be cleaning that off tonight.

Then...

I took the three puppers for a 45-minute walk this afternoon, and they spent most of the evening sleeping, although I did take them outside in the back yard since then to go potty. About a half hour ago, Pooh Bear woke up, got off the sofa, and went on the dog bed (the one had hadn't peed on) and started circling. I thought he was circling before he was going to lie down. But NOOO! He peed on the frickin dog bed! I yelled at him as soon as he started, then took them all outside, and he peed again and pooped. He didn't tell me that he needed to go out. He's always told me before.

I've had him for almost five months, and before this week, he NEVER had an accident in the house. It's like he's going through his puppy stage all over! I know he's still a puppy (about 1-1/2 years old), but he's been so good! I guess I'll just have to take him out more even if he doesn't tell me he has to go out.

Our puppers can be frustrating sometimes, can't they?

Oh, and today Maya slipped out the back door before I got her harness on and jumped the fence. Luckily it only took about 5 minutes to catch her.

It was just one of those days!

good grief -- he gave you a run for your money today huh? it's a good thing they are so cute!

per the housetraining lapse in pooh -- i would be careful 'yelling' at him when he does it in the house. if you catch him by all means interrupt with "outside" and lead him out to the potty yard. when you yell sometimes they will associate that with going potty. for instance the learn that they can't pee in front of the crazy human because she yells. then he will likely try to hide and pee. sometimes it means they won't pee while your outside with them either. also just a reminder to praise him outside when he goes even when he's housetrained. you don't suspect anything physically wrong, right?

I was just going to ask if you ever got him in to the vet?

I didn't take him to the vet because he didn't pee in the house for like two days so I figured it was just a behavior thing. He's acting perfectly normal other than that. But I'm keep a close eye on him, and if it continues, then I'll talk to the vet.

One good thing out of all of this is that he's being just fabulous on the leash. And when I pick up poop I tether him to me and he walks right next to me. And when he's loose, if he barks at all, I just shake the coveted treat jar and he immediately comes a'running!

I already practice NILIF with my pups, but I'm REALLY enforcing it now with Pooh Bear! No accidents last night or this morning. And I cleaned off my dining room table and moved the arm chairs away from the table to reduce temptation.

Pooh Bear's latest escapades:

When he was on the dining room table the other week, he ate a candle, so he was pooping greenish/blue candle for several days after that.

Last week he ate the gel wrist support that's below my trackball at my home computer. He was pooping clumps of light green gel after that. Luckily he's pooping all the foreign stuff out and he feels fine. If he acted like he was having ANY problems at all I would take him to the vet.

So he got me to clean up my house and re-puppyproof it.
