Guest Anonymous Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Both Bernie the Beagle and Brutus the Rottie mix were adopted into wonderful homes today! YEAH! Quote

behle Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Wonderful news to wake up to! You're great Tammy! :D I hope they settle in their new homes quickly. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Okay so Brutus was returned.... Hubby made one mistake....he didn't talk to the husband. Here's this morning's 8 am phone call: Her: Tammy? Me: Yes.... Her: Hi I adopted Brutus... Me: So what's wrong? Her: I have to return him....he's to big... Me: To Big? You didn't realize this yesterday???????!!!!!!! Her: Well Ummm He also growled at my husband and doesn't like him Me: Yeah okay whatever...meet me at the mall in 45 minutes. 45 mins later (looking like crap, hair not fixed, clothes don't match...hell I was having coffee getting ready to watch the Wiggles) I walk up snap off her leash snapped mine on and turned to walk away. She started talking.... Her: I'm really sorry about this. I don't know what happened. He was great with me and my son then my husband came home and he just started barking at him. Me: Well what did you do when he started barking. Her: I told him no Me: What did you husband do? Her: He got really mad that the dog barked at him when he walked into his own home. Me: Oh let me guess he never tried to make friends with him. Just expected to walk in to the house up to a strange dog and then have the dog obey? Her (Hanging her head): Yes ME: I hope he doesn't treat you and your son that way. I turned and walked off from her. I wish Hubby had talked to her husband but he didn't. He's new at it. So Brutus is back here and here he will stay until we find him the perfect home. The sad thing as I was walking away she tells me "He really needs a lot of land...maybe a farm" I turned around and told her "Thank you ma'am but honestly he lives in my home with several other dogs and does just fine thank you". I was so PISSED when I left home to meet her. I know Jeremy tried! In fact he told me they waited TWO HOURS for her husband to call her back about Brutus and get the okay. My personal thoughts is that besides the fact the dog DARED to bark at him as he entered HIS HOME he wasn't happy that he didn't pick the dog. Quote
JackieMaya Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 That's too bad that Brutus had to come back, but it turned out that those people obviously don't know anything about dog behavior, so it's good that he didn't stay there. Good luck finding him his forever home! Quote
__crazy_canine__ Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Ugh that happens so much and I HATE that! I cant believe women get married to idiots like that... :x :( Sorry about Brutus! Like JM said, its better hes back than with that family. Quote
JackieMaya Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 And tell you husband not to feel bad. People who have been finding adoptive homes for dogs for a long time have been fooled. My Pooh Bear was adopted out twice and returned due to no fault of his own (thankfully for me). Quote
