rotten_two Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 ever noticed your dog manipulating his/her environment? lemme give you an example . . . or two last night aspen got up on the bed second and therefore did not get hsi favorite spot closest to me. he laid down quietly without protest and proceeded to fart right in gaia's face. it was nasty and just as he planned she got off the bed and he slipped into his favorite place :) gaia plays the same game tho -- if asp has a kong/toy that gaia wants she will run to the front door and start barking her head off (at nothing mind you) then when aspen gets up to see what is the brouhaha she runs back and steals his toy. imported_Kat Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 lol the farting thing is hilarious! Kes is a right wee Madam. Good example was this afternoon. Cherith was taking up the 3 seater sofa at the top of the sunroom and I was on the chair. Kes had tried to get comfy sitting on my lap on the chair but it didn't work and after many frustrated groas later she pounced on Cherith. She proceeded to terrorise Cherith by wuffing at her and eating the book she was reading, then she would get off the sofa and leap on her time after time. I was laughing so hard at this and Cherith was yelling at her and Kes took not one bit of notice. Eventually cherith got fed up and went to the bottom of the sunroom and Missy madam barked at her like a triumphant bark and then stretched her body along the length of the sofa  Quote
rotten_two Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 oh kat that is too funny! i am constantly amazed at how they can work a situation to their favor. Quote
CincoandDahlilasgirl Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 LOL Kat thats to funny! A few weeks ago Dahlila was a blast just playing with herself by shaking her toy and dropping it on the ground and picking it up again and dropping it well Cinco came up and stole the toy which really pissed Dahlila off so she barked at him using her I'm the queen bark I like to call it and all it took is one sharp yap from her to make Cinco drop it and back off. Just yesterday I was training Cinco with treats and I wanted him to learn with distractions so I brought Dahlila and Lizzie in the room. I told him to sit and Dahlila was looking at the treatsand waited for like 3 or 4 times for to tell Cinco to sit until she got up walked over in front of him and sat when I said sit to Cinco and it was like "Oh honestly...This is how it's done!" Horsefeathers! Posted August 1, 2005 Posted August 1, 2005 My dogs are not that smart. Usually, if one wants a space that another is occupying, they'll either jump up and lay down on them and annoy them into moving, or they'll just build steam, get a running start, and t-bone them out of the way. Quote
rotten_two Posted August 1, 2005 Author Posted August 1, 2005 i can see how the brut force method would work here :D Quote
