BuddysMom Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Could they have created anything less useful for the benefit of our canine companions? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/07/0725_050725_dogcollar.html  Quote
Seijun Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Errr... I don't get it. Why do you need that thing to tell you who your dog is friends or foes with--wouldn't you know yourself if you were the one taking him out for a walk? I can only see this thing being useful for morons who let their dogs run lose unatended. ~Seij Quote

BuddysMom Posted July 29, 2005 Author Posted July 29, 2005 And I though MIT students were supposed to be smart. Now a useful invention along those lines would be an actual tracking devicethat would allow you to find a lost dog. All there is now is the radio collar - bulky and limited in range. With GPS and nanotechnology, would it be so impossible to invent a lightweight collar that would tell you your dog's coordinates at all times? I would personally pay $300 at least if such a thing existed, just for peace of mind in case Buddy ever got lost. Quote
