Bath!

Usually we take Caeser to a groomer, because he tends to "bite" in the tub. Well, actually, he just shows his teeth.

Anyways, I thought its because of a new enviorment, and dogs around, and all that.

So, today I'm taking things really slow. I'm going to give him a very relaxing bath.

Please pray all goes well. If it does, he doesn't have to go to the groomer except to have his nails clipped and ears cleaned.

Okay, he sort of escaped the bath area, and is acting pretty bad... :cry:

So...I'm just going to reward him for getting wet and try again later. *sigh*

He's in front of the rat cage. :o I tried to lure him away...but I can't...i grabbed his leash and he took a snap at me...

Kitty, sounds like Ceaser might be a bit aggressive? If your actually starting to get scared to even move your dog, maybe you should start on some NILIF (Nothing In Life Is Free)? I know Courtnek and Xavierandrea will be able to fill you in on the details.

Although rewarding him is good, DON'T do it after he snaps at you. That will be rewarding him for his bad behavior. It sounds like he is the boss of you, this needs to be corrected before he bites. I would never tolerate a dog snapping at me. In the training forum there is a post titled "nothing in life is free", read that and then DO IT, would be my advise. Courtnek also offered to help, she knows a lot about the subject.

I did NILIF for awhile, but stopped for some reason. I'll start up again. He's only aggressive during certain things. Usually he's really good. Thank you VERY much for everyone's advice.

NILIF is a lifetime agreement. you cant stop it when the dog "appears" to be better. in the wild, this would be enforced for the life of the wolf. for good reason. they are not stupid, in fact they are manipulative, and if they get it in their head they want to be top dog, they'll do whatever they can to get there.

you need to reintroduce NILIF, and continue to do it from now until cesar dies. this is not harsh, in fact they prefer it. they want to know their place, and the only reason they try to take over is because they dont. not knowing their place goes against every instinct they have in the wild. they are dogs, but those intstincts are still there. these are the only rules they know. its up to us to enforce them. again, PM me or come here if yu need help.
