Mutt_Lady Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 Well, when Kevin and I are...together, K acts like she's gone crazy. She will come over and lick us to death or much worse, bark and growl and carry on until we stop. This has just started happening recently. Does anyone know why she would do such a thing & how to stop her? Quote
courtnek Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 she's jealoous of Kevin. she feels you are HERS, and resents Kevins attention. NILIF start today. Put her back in her place in your pack... she should accept ANYTHING you do, INCLUDING love Kevin. if sh doesnt she needs demotion, and NILIF will handle that... 8) Quote
rotten_two Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 well my guess is that when you're together there are some noises that aren't usually heard and bodies flailing about, etc. do you use a crate? if so i would crate her for together time -- give her a fat kong and that should hold her for a good 10 minutes (haha just kidding)! if you can't crate i would probably tether her elsewhere with a fat kong. i am not sure i agree that she doesn't know her place in the pack. i think the strange noises and movements confuse and maybe scare her a bit. she might think kevin is hurting you. i mean your body flushes, your muscles get stiff, you moan etc she might interpret this as aggression. my vote is confine her whilst having relations :P Quote
Bubblezzz Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005  Took care of a friend's dog that reacts exactly the same way! She has zero dominance issues & is altogether the sweetest dog. We had to send ALL the dogs outside to be, er, together. Seeing as how yours could be a long-term problem, would pretending to be 'together' and throwing her treats from time to time help to reassure her? Or will she start bugging you even MORE? :o  Quote
pyrless Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005  i know! our first dog, casey, used to up and leave the room, which was great. taz doesn't get growly, but he does kind of watch over the whole situation. we have to kick him out. sasha sleeps through the whole thing, of course... Quote
