felicia Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 tonight we leaving to stay with family who live eight hours away, the first night we are staying with a friend but the night after we are staying with my husbands sister, she has an outdoor only dog and while i don't agree with that i leave it alone so i don't cause rifts in the family. this time we visit i will have anassa who always sleeps in at night yet she won't be allowed to sleep inside at the sisters even for one night because she's 'just a dog' the sisters dog will be outside with her but i know nassa will cry and make a lot of noise, she plays very very rough with her friend max and solar isn't used to that, i just have an aweful feeling she's going to make heaps of noise and then the sister is going to get upset and then i'm going to get upset with her for yelling at nassa. what should i do? am i being unreasonable for wanting her inside at someone elses house? nassa also has a lump on her side at the moment and i like to supervise her with other dogs that i don't know. thanks felicia Quote
felicia Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 The lump is a big cyst that is slowly going down but i like to keep an eye on her with dogs i don't know just in case. i don't even know what a crate is? also, the SIL has a lot of potplants, something i don't have at my place unless they are out of reach because nassa destroys them, i can watch her during the day but at night i can't , this is another reeason i want her in :( i know the SIL will have a fit if she wakes up to see all her potplants destroyed... felicia Quote
felicia Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 i don't know if i could put nass in a cage, she's never been in one and she's nearly six months old, i don't think that would make a difference with these people anyway but thankyou for the suggestion. i'm sure she will be okay outside, i guess i just get worried she will destroy potplants etc, then she won't be popular at all :( felicia Quote

felicia Posted June 23, 2005 Author Posted June 23, 2005 i really want to take her with me and we are leaving tonight so i don't really have enough time for crate training, there aren't any shops that sell them here either, there's only a local deli and a pub.... we have had a talk about it and might just stay somewhere else yet, it will save a lot of hasstle. thankyou all for your help :) i appreciate it. felicia. PS. unfortionately, the plants are only chilli and basil etc  Quote
behle Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 :o I would have a problem with keeping my puppy outside all night at someone's house. If she is used to sleeping inside with you then I think she should be able to do that. If possible I would not stay at the SIL's house overnight, but find somewhere else to stay the night. Good Luck! imported_Kat Posted June 23, 2005 Posted June 23, 2005 I think its very unreasonable to aks your dog to sleep outside at someone house where she doesn't know the surroundings. Also with another dog its very risky because the other dog may be territorial and lay into Anassa. Apart from anything else she is a puppy and she needs to be contained. Where exactly is she going to lseep? Does your SIL have a kennel for her or a secure pen? If she has access to pot plants then she is roaming free and there is every chance that she could get away from the property from the sounds of it. Say to your SIL politely that she is only a puppy and she needs to be kept out of harms way. Strange house or not... I know I certainly would never let a dog sleep outside on its own. Anytime Meg has been to crufts with me or at other shows or at friends houses, I always make sure she is allowed in the bedroom. Quote
