JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 I was flipping through channels, and the 2005 Crufts Dog Show is on Animal Planet right now! Cool! Right now it's the Hound Group. I don't know if they have the groups in the same order in England as they do in the U.S., so I don't know how much of the show I've missed. But hopefully it'll be on again. Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Okay, they just said that the Hound Group was the first group. The Beagle won the Hound Group. Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Coco, the Norfolk Terrier, won the Terrier Group. Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Toy Group winner: Short-hair Chihuaha Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Gigi, we both posted at exactly the same time! And I was wondering if you were watching! Now up is the gundog group. Let's see if the Goldie wins! Quote
courtnek Posted May 23, 2005 Posted May 23, 2005 Foxhounds rarely win, but in all honesty I think thats a good thing. they were bred to hunt, and I have seen show hounds who look like they have spent their whole lives being "prissied" up for the show..give me a WORKING dog anyday!! they arent the best pets unless you understand and can deal with them.... to those firing up your flame throwers, I feel the same about Labs. they should have LARGE SQUARE HEADS. I hated the narrowing of the head thats been done lately....they should have a tail that is long, rigid, straight and can clear a coffee table in a single sweep...no second tries.... FIRST time.... I strongly feel that if you cant handle that, you shouldnt have a lab or a foxhound..   8) Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Gundog group winner: English Setter There were 500 Goldens at the show! And they had an Irish Red and White Setter. Those are so beautiful! And the American Cocker Spaniel had a natural tail! Yay! Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Working dog winner: Giant Schnauzer. I was also happy to see the natural ears on the Dobe! And the Newfy was a black and white - gorgeous! Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Pastoral Group (a/k/a Herding Group) winner: Belgian Tevurian Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 So who do you think is going to win best of show? Quote
JackieMaya Posted May 23, 2005 Author Posted May 23, 2005 Coco, the Norfolk Terrier won best of show (who won the Eukuneba National title last year) Quote

pyrless Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 I have a question on this. Did any of you notice that the handlers were dressed a little casually for "the world's most prestigious dog show"? Just curious. Also, why was the working dog entry so small? Quote
