my dog is afraid...

I have a 8 month old bernese who has suddenly refused to go into our kitchen. even for feeding.
We think that she may have been spooked by a mouse running sometime in the night.
How can we get her fear to end?

Spend time in the kitchen doing interesting stuff and ignore the dog till he comes in of his own volition. Once he comes in casually include him in whatever you're doing that is interesting, perhaps give a treat.
You could also try desensitizing him to mice if you think that is what caused it. Maybe taking him to see a mouse in cage/aquarium or something?

I have a feeling that she may have had a bad slip on the wood flooring, because when she does try to enter the kitchen she's very cautious with the way her feet meet the floor. Otherwise, treats haven't worked, and i end up pickings her up to move her to the other end of the house.

Thanks for all of your replies, and please keep 'em coming.

cheers.

Maybe try carrying her and holding her in the room. If she is a lap dog, maybe let her sit in your lap in the kitchen while you read a book or something. Just always make the experience a positive, rewarding one. It will eventually wear off.
