abker17 Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 Quick question; Abby got a small cut on her paw yesterday when she was outside, I'm not sure where it came from. It's a very little circle of ripped skin (not a clean cut like glass might've caused, probably something like a bottle cap) Anyway, since it was so small, I didn't do anything for it yesterday. It didn't seem to bother her much either. But today she has a greater limp so I think it's hurting her. What should I do for it? I don't want it getting infected or anything and I hate to see her limp around. :( Quote
Pumpkin the musher Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 First , make sure there is'nt anything in there, like a thorn or small sliver of wood. Usually a limp is an indicator that there is something in there. Clean it with hydrogen peroxide and have someone shine a flashlite on it so you can see better. I wouldn't wrap it unless it continues to bleed. For superficial cuts, you can glue the flap of skin back down with super glue. (Really!) Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted April 12, 2005 Posted April 12, 2005 give it a good wash - keep it clean Quote
abker17 Posted April 12, 2005 Author Posted April 12, 2005 Thanks for the advice. :) I washed it off and there doesn't appear to be anything in her paw, just looks like some of the tough padding was torn away. I'll keep her inside the rest of the day so she doesn't get any dirt inside of it and clean it again in the morning. Quote
