DogPaddle Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 As many of you may know the Ontario BSL law, or at least a portion of it, was passed a few months ago. American Pit Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, Pit Bulls, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, crosses of these breeds and any dog that "looks" significantly like these breeds could be subject to it. They must be muzzled in public, no new ones can come into the province, owners must carry a huge additional liability insurance and they must be speutered. However, I don't think any of the municipalities have much interest in enforcing it. I have seen lots of dogs that could easily be identified as one of the BSL breeds walking about unmuzzled. In fact, there were two at the offlead dog park unmuzzled and offlead. It will be interesting to see if this continues. I hope it does - it will make Bryant seem foolish and impotent. Quote
Lucky Chaos Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Its not in place until August 29th I believe. So they don't have to be muzzled until then. The real test will be how many are muzzled after that date. Quote
DogPaddle Posted April 11, 2005 Author Posted April 11, 2005 I have no idea. Seems pretty odd to me. I suppose it could be so people have time to . . . er . . . buy a muzzle? Quote
