Premium Edge Vs. Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul

I know Premium Edge and Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul are made by the company, so I went to the store today to get Sasha a sample bag of each, to see which she likes better. There's a 1-2 dollar difference between the brands, but they both looked good and cost pretty much the same as the Pro Plan my parents feed her now.

So I put a handful of each on separate plates and scoot them towards her. She checks them both out, eats the Chicken Soup, ignores the Premium Edge.

So I give her a refill on the Chicken Soup, and this time she eats the Premium Edge! I refilled the Premium Edge, and she chose that again... So now I'm going to see if I can't get my parents to go for the Premium Edge instead of Pro Plan now *crosses fingers*

Of course, the dog is going to be a lot easier than the (7) cats, because I don't see them being willing to spend $15-18 on a bag of dry c@ food when they're used to getting 7.99 bags of Friskies :-? Plus the cans are almost twice as much as Friskies cans.

Well, I'll just have to keep promising my two kitties that when they move out with me, they'll get good food ;)

That's cool you did a taste test with Sasha!

I've never given Buck a choice. He's on Wellness right now and he loves it. I actually never considered he might like something else better...

I know what you mean! I have a good friend whose c@t has terrible skin. He's on Meow Mix. I don't know anything about c@t food but I really don't think this is quality. I suggested a better food (Wellness for c@ts and Felidae) but once she saw the price difference decided to stick with the Meow Mix.

Well, they have $2.99 sample bags in those brands, so I decided I may as well just get both and see how it goes.

It's a shame your friend isn't willing to listen to you about changing foods. I think it would be different if we only had a couple cats, but with 7 of them (plus a couple strays outside), we go through kitty food rather quickly. Of course, my parents have been feeding Friskies for as long as they've had cats, and none of the cats have been any worse for the wear, I suppose, but I'd still like to get my animals something where corn isn't in the ingredient list, let alone #1 :-?
