JackieMaya Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Remember Pooh Bear? He's the Australian Shepherd mix who has been at the rescue shelter I adopted Jackie and Maya from for quite a while. He's a year old, and he's looking more like Jackie all the time! Look at the new pictures of him! He sounds like a wonderful dog, but I just don't think I have the time to devote to 3 dogs AND a horse (who lives elsewhere). It would be ridiculous for me to get another dog. That would just give me one more reason to stay home! But I just LOVE him! Here's what they say about him: [quote]Notes: Pooh Bear is a 12 month old neutered male Australian shepherd mix. He has a fluffy black and tan coat that will need regular brushing. Weighs about 50#. Pooh is as sweet as a dog can be!!! He is still very much a pup, and will need a bunch of his own chew toys Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 I wasn't sure we should make the jump to three. And now we are at 4. Like I say....."What is one more?" It's the decision to go to 2 that is difficult. Everything after that is a piece of cake! LOL Quote
JackieMaya Posted April 1, 2005 Author Posted April 1, 2005 I think my family (who live in other states than me, by the way) would have me committed if I got another dog. But they thought I was crazy to get a second dog when I just had Jackie. And after I got Maya, they said it was great that I got her. The fact that he's been there for so long must mean he's supposed to be with me. Right? Maybe my screen name will end up being JackieMayaPooh! LOL Quote
Crystal Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 Ah, ya know ya want him. Go for it, Jackie and Maya need a man around to watch out for em. My family thinks I'm nuts for wanting one dog. I'll never make it two. Unless of course I find my husband the dog he wants. Then he'll give in! Took me months to talk him into Toby. Now he loves him. I say the more the better! Quote

I don't know why it shocks them so...I've been dog crazy from birth, lol. Don't let that get in your way. If you have the time, space and love...go get 'em!:D So is my moms side of the family(my dads side don't come around enough to know we even have dogs) my aunt and grandma can't understand some dogs need a companion dog as friend that lives with them in the same house. We got Cinco for me(I was going through a hard time with my friends moving away) and Dahlila. Quote
imported_Kat Posted April 1, 2005 Posted April 1, 2005 That pupper is totally waiting for you! :D Quote
JackieMaya Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Look how much he looks like Jackie. Here's a picture of Jackie on her dog bed where she's posed in pretty much the same position as Pooh Bear. Quote
CincoandDahlilasgirl Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 He's got the look like he's saying "Please adopt me" Quote
JackieMaya Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 I don't know if I'll be able to wait until the adoption fair on April 9. I might end up calling before that. Then I could go see him at his foster home, which would really be better than meeting him at Petco for the first time. And I think I've found a dog/house sitter too, so I won't have to pay the big bucks to keep my dogs at the kennel when I go out of town. Walking the 3 dogs wouldn't be a problem either, because Jackie and Maya walk great together, so I could have them on one side and PoohBear on the other side. See? I'm starting to talk myself into it (not that it's a hard thing to do). Quote
nadooshkinz Posted April 2, 2005 Posted April 2, 2005 OMD! JM you're actually considering it :D :D That's SO great, I think you should DEFINITELYgo for it :D ! Think of the thrill of having a new pup! You won't regret it  and may I just say, the resembelance is UNCANNY! :o They're both goregeous! Yay! I'm so happy for you! :D Quote
JackieMaya Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 I just left a message with the rescue shelter saying that I want to meet Pooh Bear and see if he will fit in with my family! So hopefully I'll meet him today or tomorrow. I'll go meet him alone first, and then I'll bring the girls to meet him. Quote
JackieMaya Posted April 2, 2005 Author Posted April 2, 2005 Jackie and Maya and I are going to meet Pooh Bear in about an hour! I'll take my camera and will let you know how it goes! Quote
