Well this is a strange question I know.

Sassy goes out before bed at about 10 pm, goes to her crate, sleeps all night & holds her bladder all night & all day until 6-7pm the next evening. I know this can't be normal. Usally she'd go out right as soon as we got up, now she won't, she doesn't even act like she has to pee until night time..

does she get water in her crate? if shes in her crate all day and all night without drinking its no wonder she never has to pee :o if she does have water in there I'd definetely have her checked out......
either way that seems liek an awfully long time to be in a crate :(

She's only crated at night for everyones infor. From the span of 10pm to around 9am. And even after being in bed all that time she used to get up & want to go out, now she doesn't. I don't keep her locked in a crate 24-7 :o must think I'm cruel if I do that!!

I sure couldn't hold it that long.

A guy my hubby works with brought his dog to work yesterday and swore his dog could hold it for 40 hours. sounds like BULL to me!

My Ariel who left us last August would hold it three days during hurricane weather or if we were gone and the petsitter was here.

Do I think it was healthy? NO! Did I like her doing it? HECK NO! Was there much I could do about it since she refused to go out in the rain and wouldn't take her eyes off the petsitter...Not really.

Sorry for the sidetrack but . . . my goodness Tammy, did your petsitter find that disturbing?

Sharpeigirl - If she had done it all along I wouldn't be SO worried. As this is a change I might be tempted to see the vet if it persists.

I called the vet this morning about it, and told her about it. She says if she continues to hold it that long over the weekend bring in a urine sample monday for a check. It's strange that after her last bout with a UTI the antibiotics really got to her. When we stopped giveing them is when this all started. It's worry some..

Hmm, maybe try putting some water in there with her at night? She should be drinking a lot of water anyways if she did have an infection to flush it out. I hope everythings Ok!

Nope Ely is quiet used to my strange dogs. Even after sleeping here three nights my other girl Bobbie still wouldn't go near her. My older dogs that are from my parents are very anti social.

She is awsome! Even with my ASD foster dogs! Before petsitting for me the last time Dec. of 03 she read up on the breed and came armed with treats to bribe them. It worked! She is 18 and has the only spare key to my house. My parents don't even have one!
