ObedienceGrrl Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 What the hell is this? Please tell me I'm wrong in assuming: That all these people do are sell their dogs to pet stores Big Puppy Mills Backyard Breeder Quote
Yoladybug Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 Did you intend to post a link or something? Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted March 19, 2005 Author Posted March 19, 2005 No.... APRI is American Pet Registry, Inc. I'm not sure if there is a link to them or not. I was wondering if anyone else knew about them..... I think it's some kind of puppy millers scam....but I was just seeing if there was anyone who knew more about it than I did. Quote
SizzleDog Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 APRI is basically a mill registry - a registry for BYBs and mills who dont want to be bothered with the AKC's requirements, or have been barred from the AKC. Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted March 20, 2005 Author Posted March 20, 2005 That is what I thought. I could throw up. A puppy is coming into our rescue. He's only 5 1/2 months old. For those of you who don't know, I'm part of Crest-Care (national breed rescue for Chinese Cresteds). We will be fostering this little guy and I was hoping he also might be the 12 inch agility dog I have been searching for! The woman who has him now (short term foster) says he's very smart and "an adorable handful". I did some searching on his breeder and found this website: http://www.daviskennel.com/index.html I almost gaged when I saw it. Cockapoos? Crestipoos? I just hope to doG that this little guy doesn't have any health problems. Quote
lsailor Posted March 21, 2005 Posted March 21, 2005 From what I've been told by show breeders it is basically a mill registry. They are not selective as to the dogs registered. Many breeders say to specifically avoid APRI (amongst other registries). Quote
