Lucky Chaos Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Please be warned This is a video of the American soldier killing the dog. Do NOT click on the link if you don't want to see it. If you want to delete this topic, it is OK with me. I am just so pissed right now http://www.ogrish.com/archives/2005/march/ogrish-dot-com-dog_shooting_in_iraq.wmv "Hi my name is M. D. formaly of A TRP 1-10 CAV 4ID and while in Iraq we had a sport of killing dogs whenever the Iraqis werent shooting us. So when I shot this one at about 50 yards with my M4 and it ran yelping to lower ground, we had to finish it so my friends and I went to it and started shooting it. I ve never seen a dog take as many shots to the head at least 4 as this one did and then after we thought it was dead we dug a hole and when I picked it up with the shovel it came back to life, so we shot it a couple more times....its pretty funny" Please contact President Bush to voice your opinion president@whitehouse.gov Poul Poulsen www.dapbt.org Quote
Yoladybug Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Reading that makes me ill...I can't bring myself to watch the video clip. Quote
Malamum Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 There is no way I can bring myself to watch the video. Things like that just make my blood boil and make me feel ill. Just remember no matter how angry this makes us, these guys are lowlifes and extremely deranged as individuals, the fact that they are soldiers or American should have no bearing what so ever. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 i remeber that. i dont have to click on the link i watched it on PBS whenthey had that speical and almost vomited when i saw that stupid@$$ shot the dog i started to cry.. there was no reason for it. atleast the other guys that were with him asked why the hell he did that.. Quote
ObedienceGrrl Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I won't even click on it. This lowlife is giving a HORRIBLE name to our wonderful soldiers out there risking their lives for us every day. Quote
abker17 Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I'm not going to watch the video either. Although I find it awful that a soldier would do that, I'm also pretty disturbed by the site the movie is hosted on. :o Quote
Crystal Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Can't bring myself to watch it either. Some people need help. Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Why would you do that? Why? I watched the video clip. Its disgusting, the lack of concern the soldier showed while shooting the dog was sickening. It was like the dog was a tyre he was shooting at or something. No sympathy at all. I muted it, I knew if I heard the dog yelp I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight.. That image does degrade soldiers out there risking their lives to bring peace to Iraq.. it also concerns me that if this is what they'd do to a mere dog, how do they treat Iraqi citizens, Iraqi children? :-? Also, aren't they just wasting bullets shooting at dogs? There should be stricter rules regarding this. Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Just made the HUGE mistake of listening to it with the sound on. I'm not going to sleep tonight. Quote
imported_Debbie Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 :o I can't believe I saw what I just saw and heard............. :o I've read so many heart warming stories about U.S soldiers saving and helping dogs/cats they've adopted over there and now this.......... I had chills run all over my body watching this......it was almost surreal. Who, and where do we complain about this ????? Did this man get any punishment for this ???? I am appalled.  Quote
Crystal Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 I finally watched this. I wish I would not have. I can't believe a person would do that. That dog wasn't bothering them. That guy will get his!!! Pay backs a...well you know! Quote
pyrless Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Debbie, I was wondering that too, if there is any punishment in the military for animal cruelty. I can't watch it, I just can't. It's bad enough what happens to kids in wars like this, much less a voiceless animal who is uncomprehending. Quote
pyrless Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Me too. I wonder how he would like it if he was shot in cold blood and stepped on til he was down? Quote
pollysmith Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 unfortunately there is a segment of our population who think dogs are worthless and meaningless. I have heard of other people who think its fun to torture dogs and other creatures. Boy are they going to get a shock when they they face their creator! Disgusting! Quote
Lucky Chaos Posted March 17, 2005 Author Posted March 17, 2005 I wasn't able to sleep last night after watching this. And when I did I had nightmares about it. I still can't believe it. Does anyone thing it would help if we started a petition or something? Any other suggestions? I feel like I can't just let this go, something has to be done. Quote

Please contact President Bush to voice your opinion president@whitehouse.gov It's actions like this that give soldiers(even veterans and people behind the lines) like my great grandpa, grandpa, uncle and cousin and anyone else who serves their country in war a bad rap! I refuse to watch the clip! I for 1 am going to write to the email address I posted about this! Quote
imported_Kat Posted March 17, 2005 Posted March 17, 2005 Perhaps its a good thing but my media player won't play the file. :-? Quote

__crazy_canine__ Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Crap I had a good thing typed and Dogo decided to not post it. Ugh! I watched it. Honestly I didnt feel anything when I saw that. No, Im not heartless. Its just that Im so used to sh*t like this. I find it pathetic that there is THAT much cruelty in the world that someone like me cant feel anything when I see my passion killed. Something does need to be done about this though. Is there a celebrity animal lover we could contact? Maybe s/he could help start getting the media involved? If much of the nation is upset by this, the government might feel under pressure to "give the people what they want" so there would have to be punishment right? I hope this person gets what he deserves. It just disgusts me that most animal cruelty cases only put the person in jail for 2 years max. Quote
kylewentworth Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 i watched it a few times just to see if i did infact see it right it looks like the dog is already wounded before the 1st shot if you ask me it is just wrong to do that to an animal even if they were how he said "killer dogs" through em a bone then kill the bad guys that are armed with wepons Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I wastched the show that it was on it was an hour special.. and they didnt' show anything about the solider getting in trouble for what he did.. just the guys asking him why he did that.. i hope he got in trouble, but sadly, i dont think he did.. Quote
pomeranians Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I can't bring myself to watch the video either. How heartless and cruel can a person possibly be? He needs to be punished for what he did, definetly. Its so sad how people can be so low as to do something like this. Quote
izzy Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 What a coward morons!! I don't know about you but i think that soldier is not the only one that shot the dog, the last shot comes from someone out of frame, so we're talking about two or more idiots! And No, the other one didn't ask "Why?" he said "He's still alive"... i'm so mad. Those acts should be punished with rejection from the army. I know that's not gonna happen but at least those "soldiers" should be exhibited as the jerks they are, their names must be known. I second LC idea of contact a dog lover celebrity, maybe Gregg Louganis, Sharon Osbourne, i don't know. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 i cant stand having people like this in our military or even on the planet  Quote
