Baileysmom Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 So, I'm planning our next doggie will be small to medium, and I prefer non drooling....... so what did my son fall in love with yesterday at the HS?? a NEOPOLITAN MASTIFF!!!!!!!!!! LOL  he spent the majority of his shift as Dog adoption aide hanging out with this huge guy! it was really cute though, if he walked away when he came back the big goof made that growly, talking sound "Iwuv u" like in dr dolittle  (know what I mean?) on another note, this is one dog Im hoping his owners do not claim him! --- he was brought in as a stray for the 2nd time and our policy is the 2nd time it happens they are do be spayed/neutered before they will be released. the owner came in once already and went ballistic when he heard that and went up to the front counter and literally laid a HUGE roll of money on the counter and said "what wil it take to get my dog out of here?" the lady ignored the $ and went into the details of the fees and he said " no you dont understand - *flipping through the wads of $* HOW MUCH will it take to get him out of here NOW, intact" :o thank goodness she said no way will he be released without being neutered..... the guy left, and we are unsure if he will come back or not, but if he doesnt, he already has a spot in a mastiff rescue :D Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I dont reckon the guy will be back for the dog! that's sad but i'm hoping he doesnt come back, the neo would be better of in rescue Quote
pyrless Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 i guess that proves it-you don't pick the dog, the dog picks you! ;-) I saw something on animal planet about them when they were first in the AKC and they had a video of one running in slow motion. all of that loose skin was flying everywhere and so was the drool! :roflt: Quote
Crystal Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 EEEWWWWW drool. McKenzie was a big drooler. I wanted a more non-drooling breed this go round! The dog is always right though, maybe he should be yours! Quote
imported_Debbie Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Oh you're so lucky.....I just love Neo's !!! Do you have a pic of him ??? That guy sounds like a jerk, he almost sounds like someone that would come back with a weapon or something.......Whacko's !!!!! Just be careful !!! We've had a few people attempt to break their dogs out of the Dog Shelter.......... Quote
Baileysmom Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 Debbie - heres a really poor quality photo of him....... Quote
imported_Debbie Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Poor guy looks like he could use a few good meals !!! I just love their melty looking faces !!!!! How old is he ?? Is he being neutered ?? Quote
Baileysmom Posted March 11, 2005 Author Posted March 11, 2005 He is 2 yrs old, and yes he will be neutered regardless of who takes him (owners or otherwise) Quote
Crystal Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Poor guy. Looks like he needs a little TLC! Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 What a cutie! Those eyes are just too sad. Quote

__crazy_canine__ Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 As much as I want a pit bull, the Neo comes in second! I want one! :bigcry: Good luck with that! I hope you get him, since we all know your home will be great for him. His owner sounds like an idiot for sure! Once the dog is nuetered though, Im sure the owner wont come back around... Quote
DogPaddle Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Sounds like the guy won't be back. Seems mostly interested in an intact dog, has a wad of cash . . . he'll just buy another one. :( Quote
