Crystal Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Ok I have been looking trying to find the perfect toys to buy for the new puppy. Going to get a few today. Any suggestions? I was wondering about the Rope bones and I am very afraid of balls. I'm always afraid they will get them stuck in the mouth. Is that silly or what? What do your dogs like best? Quote
Baileysmom Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 In my opinion a kong is a must - they make many differnt sizes, and strengths (including puppy versions) alot I think depends on the dog though and what they like - I would maybe get a couple different things and see what he ends up liking .... Bongo would only play with rope bones an even that not alot, and ofcourse chewing on treats, he was never a "toy" dog....... Bailey on the other hand is obsessed with chasing tennis balls when we're out at the dog park, and LOVES stuffed squeaky toys at home. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 stuffed toys that squeak always keep an eye on a puppy in case it rips the toy open- Tiggie had some plastic squeaky toys but she ripped they with her sharp baby teeth- stolen toys are always the best a pair on socks rolled together Quote
imported_Kat Posted February 25, 2005 Posted February 25, 2005 Kongs all the way! Also a rope ball is great for bonding with your pup and playing tuggy with it. It increases your interaction and also you can teach your pup where his place is in your family by controlling the toy. Quote
IYPChrissie Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Another Kong fan here, you can never go wrong ;) Also as mentioned the stuffed, squeaky ones are perfect for puppies. PetSmart has a great selection - Have fun! Quote
