I hope this is the right board for this...

Anyway, last night I was talking to a rather unusal girl. She worshipped the devil,(I didn't find this out until the very end of our conversation. I wouldn't have stuck around if I would of known that from the beginning), but owned a dog. To be more specific, a Pomeranian.

I thought that was nice, as I own one as well.

But, just a couple minutes after talking about her dog, she mentioned she had dyed its hair. I was shocked, and I was screaming at the top of my lungs to my mother, saying, "That is ridiculous! You should NEVER dye a dogs hair!!!!!". Something like that. Anyway, further on, she mentioned peircing her dogs nose. Yes, peircing her dogs nose. She said it hurt her (which almost draws tears to my eyes, thinking about that little dog, being held down, yelping, just to have a ring through its nose). But then, she said "she liked to play with it.. so its all cool".

I'm sure the dog was just in a deperate attempt to get "it" off her face.

I think this has got to be one of the worst situations I've heard of other than the stuff you see on Animal Cops. She may have been lying, but many cluse pointed to that she was telling the truth.

Maybe its just me, but I found that she could have done those things VERY disturbing...

Some people are total nuts...did she happen to mention what color she dyed the dog(just curious) I think she is lying, I hope she is lying, who would pierce a dog??? :-? I'm extremly confused now...I think I may need help, this has disturbed me deeply.

No, she didn't mention the color.

But yeah, I sat up for a long time thinking about that.

I hope she was lying as well, but her whole page, (this person was over Neopets), was dedicated to "goth", and she looks as if she very well could have peirced her dog, (she included pictures).

I very much hope she was lying, but she sounded awful truthful.

Who knows...

I've colored dog hair before. The dogs don't mind (in action, it's about like shampooing if using a permanent color, or brushing if using a temporary color). A lot of people think it's weird, but I'm ok with anything that isn't harmful or stressful and it's certainly no more stressful than having a bath, and I've never known of any dog that was harmed by being colored.

I can't imagine piercing anything on a dog, though. I suppose that could get into the realm of cosmetic altering and come right back to docking and cropping... some people are ok with it and some feel it's barbaric. There has to be something wrong, though, with someone who can just pin down a dog and intentionally inflict that kind of pain without at least the benefit of anesthesia (though I don't know any vets who do piercings). I'm pretty sure (if it happened at all) the dog didn't just sit there and let her do it.

Well, now that you descibe the coloring, its not as bad as I imagined it.

The peircing part though, I'm SURE a dog wouldn't put up with that.

It was supossedly a Pomeranian though, (I'm still not for sure that this ever happened), so sadly, theres not much a dog of that size could do.

I was actually thinking about that gig.

I was going to track her pc to where she lived, and send along what she had said to me to the Humane Society. I still know how to contact her, but shes kind of a, uh, freak, so I really don't want to talk to her.

I just hope that little dogs OK.

How ANYONE could EVER do that!!!!

Whoa HF... Those are some cool pics... I especially like the first 2.

ditto!

I cant believe someone would pierce their dog. But then again, isnt cutting off a dogs tail and ears just as bad? I mean, dogs do have a higher tolerance for pain than us so it might not hurt them as bad as we would think but geez thats just stupid.
