ShatteringGlass Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Well, I suppose it was my fault. Syd and I came back from a nice 2 hour hike in the state forest, and I went into the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. Mistake #1- I didn't put the bread back on the shelf. Mistake #2- I left the gate to the kitchen open. I went to my parents down the street for an hour our so, and I came back to find Sydney had eaten the whole loaf of bread! :o  I'm sure she enjoyed it, but now I can't make any sandwiches! Quote
JackieMaya Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 That same type of thing happened to me with one of my dogs when I was a teenager. I put a frozen pizza out on the counter while the oven was preheating, and went to do something. When I came back, my dog had the pizza on the floor and had finished off most of it! Quote
ShatteringGlass Posted February 16, 2005 Author Posted February 16, 2005  sneaky little beasts, aren't they? Quote
Malamum Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 We have a bread bandit in our house and Wheet Bix bandit too. The other day Michael stupidly left the pantry door open and the dogs took the box of Wheet Bix out the dog door into the back yard and ate it all. I bet they had very dry mouths   Quote
StarFox Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005  Maybe she was mad at you because you didn't make her a sandwich? Or ya know maybe she just really likes carbs. Quote
DogPaddle Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 Kavik was never much of a food stealer as a pup and after about 6 months he was completely reliable . . . until the swiss chalet buns. He is mad for them. I don't know if its because we were tossing them to people to dole them out (8 people for dinner - 3 person kitchen table - we were all over the place) or if its because they are so good. He actually made a beeline for one, snatched it off a tv table (he usually won't even put his head near one even if invited) and ignored the dropit comand and scarfed it quick. :o Quote
nadooshkinz Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 We have doggie food Bandits, Our cats jump up on the stove and eat the Chicken we make for Clea, if the pan is uncovered.. its very amusing to watch. Whiskers holds back as a lookout, while Mary the mother, and her daughter Hazel go in for the kill (the chicken leg), i walked in yesterday to find them drinking up the soup since most of the chicken was gone... Quote
imported_Kat Posted February 16, 2005 Posted February 16, 2005 lol a whole loaf is pretty impressive  Quote
