AllAmericanPUP Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 my home state  Illinois Looks at BSL [Friday, February 11, 2005] Rep. Jerry Mitchell has introduced HB1128, a bill to allow Illinois municipalities to enact breed-specific laws. (A statewide dangerous dog law passed only two years ago prohibits such legislation.) What You Can Do: The House Committee on Agriculture and Conservation will hold a hearing on HB1128 on Wednesday, February 16th at 2 p.m. in Room D-1 of the Stratton Building at the Capitol in Springfield. It is critical that concerned dog owners attend the hearing to express their opposition to breed-specific language. Note: The House Ag Committee will also hear HB707, a bill that could require licensing for all hobby breeders and rescuers, at the meeting on Wednesday. Help is needed to oppose this measure as well. For more information, please read our alert on this bill. If you cannot attend the hearing, immediately contact the committee members to express your opposition to HB1128 and HB707. AllAmericanPUP Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 I dont understand why this is happening I have NEVER herd of a dog attack around here. I think there maybe might have been a couple in chicago, but nothing recent. this is total BS  Eli is a boxer mix anywayz :P Quote
courtnek Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 I too live in Illinois. the problem stems from Chicago and Rockford and possibly Springfield. this is a big problem with big cities. please email write do whatever you can. My city has a 3 strike rule, no BSL, but may be pushed over the edge if this becomes law. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted February 13, 2005 Author Posted February 13, 2005 I wish I could go to the meeting on wednesday but i have school  Quote
Seijun Posted February 13, 2005 Posted February 13, 2005 Doesn't surprise me... They seem to like banning things in IL. Just hope it doesn't rub off on my state. ~Seij Quote
