Kerislc Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 We took Scout on a hike this weekend and he got a scrape on the inside of his leg where his hair is really fine. It kind of looks like it is infected and he will not stop liking it. I have been watching it closelyand I know dog's saliva is a natural antiseptic, but I am wondering if I could put anything on it to make sure the infection goes away. I have some hydrogen peroxide, could I put that on it? Quote
JackieMaya Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 Maybe he scraped up against some poison ivy or something like that? That would make him keep licking it because of the itchiness. I know that witch hazel works real well on horses for bug bites; maybe it would work for dogs too? Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 dilute the hydrogen peroxide first- keep the scrape clean if it's very red and angery looking you should see a vet Quote
