NY VS MIA

If I had to choose between living in Miami and New York.I'll chose New York in a heartbeat.I love the beaches and all,but I love pitties,and NY seems like a better place for them.I would like to own one or a staff when I'm older,since my mom is caught up in the whole bad rap thing.But what I noticed in Animal Cops in NY is that they show cases were dogs are taking from a dog fighting incident and still are able to find a good home for the ones that are able to recover and not be aggressive.But in Miami Animal Cops I haven't seen one case where there was a pit taking from a dog fighting incident,but just illegally own by responsible owners. :( Also NY I think from what I seen has more gangs than in Detriot.And most gangbangers are enganged in pit bull fights,but Detriot outlaws them,and NY doesn't.I'm not sure about Houston.But I think Detriot & Miami Animal Cops should be outlawed from Animal Planet. And they call themselves animal lovers?What is your thought in this?

I dont care for Miami AC, I like the Detroit show tho. The guys in it really appear to care about the animals, more so than the Miami ones do. The Detroit AC cant help it, it's a law in Detroit that Pit's dont get adopted back out. I dont agree with it in every case, but either way, these guys have to live with it whether they like it or not.

I think out of the Animal planet shows NY is the best with Detroit & Houston tied for second.. But Miami isn't even in the picture, they suck..

I guess you must be talking about NYC........
There are alot of places that won't rent to you based on the type of dog you keep. Others will rent to you but only if your dog is under 30lb. or some silly thing like that. :roll:
Some places won't rent to people with any pets. They don't want to be stuck with the damage caused to their apt.'s. :wink:
AND, Insurance companies(home insurance) are hiking the rates on people they know keep "guard type/aggressive" dogs. :-?
This of course is happening all over not just N.Y.
I live in New York State and even in our little town you see the discrimination.
My daughter was looking to rent a house and everytime she asked if they allowed pets........they asked "what kind of pet do you own?" and when she said Rottweiler........they all of a sudden don't rent to people with dogs. :wink: :evilbat:

I can assure you there is plenty of gang activity in Detroit, but not all dogfighting revolves around gang activity, though it does often go hand in hand with drug activity. Detroit doesn't outlaw any breed of dog. They do not adopt out seized APBTs and mixes, and they do not adopt out unclaimed stray Pits (if a stray pit is yours, and you can prove it, you can get your pit bull back - they don't kill them outright). Miami on the other hand has a Breed Ban which prohibits/outlaws anything that could be deemed an APBT from the city limits, or else they will be euthanized. It's a totally different situation, and while I find the Detroit show depressing, I outright loathe the Miami show.
