DogPaddle Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Ok, maybe its just appearances but it really does seem that Zaphod's but and flanks shed 2x as much as the rest of him. Anybody have any idea why that might be? Quote
courtnek Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 he's a lab DP...every hunting dog I have ever owned sheds more at the back end. the hair comes out in clumps from the rear end and ends up everywhere. they are double coated, and when the coat "blows", it blows everywhere. no worries, this is not at all unusual. Marble Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Dresden does that too :) She's an ACD/Dobie mix and sheds a TON off her back end...... Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 all of my doggies shed more on their back legs and near their tail and such. Quote
abker17 Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 Ditto what everyone else has said, both my dogs have always shed more on their back ends. Quote
DogPaddle Posted January 2, 2005 Author Posted January 2, 2005 Huh, weird, I wonder why that is. I suppose its convenient as the front end is usually peoples prefferred petting end. Zaphod prefers a good butt scratch though - must be all that semi-loose fur. Quote
courtnek Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 do you knit? I took one of my dogs in for "thinning" one spring and when I picked him up there was a garbage bag full of hair waiting. She asked me if I wanted it and I said "WHATEVER for?" she said some people make sweaters and such with it...    Quote
