Kerislc Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 Just wondering if this is ok. . . Scout and the new puppy Lizzy are BEST friends. They absolutly love eachother! However when they are playing, Lizzy nips at Scouts "beard" which must hurt, but he doesn't seem to care. They wrestle and chase eachother, but when Scout is done playing he sits on her or just lays down and squishes her so she can't move. I obvoiusly pull him off, but am wondering if dogs know what is too much for the other. Scout has an incredible temperment and seems to be very gentle with her since she is so much smaller. Just curoius how involved I should get in their playing. My husband tells me to let them work things out, but I son't want Scout to hurt her on accident. Quote
izzy Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 It sounds normal to me, playing is one way to say "i'm the boss", so they will take their place in the family. On the other hand, accidents can happen, just keep an eye on them. :) Quote
imported_Kat Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 Scout will let her know when she has gone too far. This is a great way for puppies to learn how hard to bite when they mouth another dog  Quote
