Guest Anonymous Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 My 8 week old weimaraner has had watery eyes ever since I got her last week. She rubs and scratches them alot. Is this something that will go away, or do they have "doggy eye drops" I can get for her? I have a kitten, but I don't think she is allergic to the cat because she had watery eyes before I brought her home. Please help, thank you. Quote
DogPaddle Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Where did you get the pup from - pet store, breeder etc? How old was the pup when it was seperated from mother? What are you feeding it? Are there any airborn irritants such as smoke or scented products that may be affecting the pup especially any that might have been present in its home before you obtained it? Does the pup have any other symptoms? If the eyes are constantly watering the pup may have an eye infection or cold or could have a condition causing eye irritation. If this has been occuring for a week straight you should probably see a vet unless the source of irritation can be located and eliminated. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 I got the pup from a breeder when she was 7 weeks old. I saw her eyes watering when I picked her up, but it was cold out, so I figured it was just the weather. Im going to take her to the vet tomorrow, so I'll let you know the outcome. Thanks for your help. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 I think you should see a vet as soon as possible sounds like an infection to me. the vet will give you eye drops and also check the puppy over let us know how you get on Quote
DogPaddle Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Good to hear your taking it to the vet, hope everything goes well. Quote
