SizzleDog Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Ilsa, Ginna, and Mia went to visit their original momma today - yup, we loaded the girls in the car to go see their breeder! There's good news and bad news. Bad news first - it looks like Ilsa's grandma (Paige) probably has bone cancer. She's 11, which is a nice age for a dobe, but we're all heartbroken, and we're hoping for the best. Our breeder didn't want to know until after Christmas - what a way to ruin the holiday, eh? Soooo... since today was possibly the last time we'd ever see Paige again ( ) , I was sure to take lots of photos and give her lots of hugs and kisses. I also snuck her a piece of freshly baked banana cake... shhhh.... Anyway, here are some of those priceless photos of Ilsa with her grandma: And now one by herself... And one with her daughter, Mattie. Mattie is Ginna's mom. Now for the GOOD news! Ilsa has 10 new cousins! Ready for lots of super cute puppy pics? Windie says, "I... think I'll just steal this one!" AWWWWW Feeding time! Hiiii! AWWWWW Part 2 Only one still awake... Here's the black boy that I *almost* took home... too bad he was already spoken for! Besides, I don't think Ilsa liked him much... "What's this wooden thing?" French ring prospect? Nahh, he's destined for another ring! Five weeks old, and already free stacking! (That was "my" boy!) My boy saying hi to Mattie: Tag! You're it! My boy working on my shoelaces... Ilsa says, "Eeeek! A puppy! Quick, someone squish it!" Oooga booga! Quote
ESSlover Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww I love them! I think that one day I may have to get a Dobe... maybe being the key word there... Quote

SizzleDog Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 Mei-Mei... better get on the waiting list, these pups were sold before they were even concieved! Heee, they're just adorable. Seriously, I kept getting this overwhelming desire to just put one in my coat... nah, the breeder wouldn't even notice if one was missing - it was a big litter! Quote
CincoandDahlilasgirl Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 I already have 2 dogs can't have another for a long time. :D Quote
courtnek Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 those pups are adorable....especially your black one. he has some character, that one....I be thinking he may need some professional discipline, he's already a troublemaker....     Paige is beautiful as well. She doesnt look to be anywhere near 11. Very little grey. Do Dobies grey in the muzzle when they get old? thanks very much for the pics. they were very cute. :D Quote
Rowie-the-Pooh Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 Ooooohhh, Dobe puppies! So adorable! And you can really see the color contrast in the first pic of the bunch together. :iloveyou: I'm sorry about Paige, what a sweet looking darling.. :( Quote
SizzleDog Posted December 25, 2004 Author Posted December 25, 2004 Yes, dobes do get grey in their old age - well, actually trheir rust markings just lighten a lot - almost to a cream. Another bit of bad news - I found out today that Ilsa's grandpa has prostate cancer, which is a common problem with older, unneutered dogs. This morning there was a masty rumor going around that he was already dead, but I know for a fact that the old dude is still alive, but isn't feeling too good. Poor dogs - this isn't what I wanted as a Christmas present... Quote
courtnek Posted December 25, 2004 Posted December 25, 2004 I AM sorry about Grandpa, and Grandma, but at least they lived to ripeold ages for doggies...please dont take that bad, they have come to the point where it may be time to go.I am glad they could get this far without major issues....I am sorry it happend at Christmas. NO ONE should be sick,or die at Christmas. Best wishes and prayers to them. I, personally, am very glad that PushyC@t will make it thru Christmas. I dont know how long he will make it after that, but I am pleased he has made it past this point, with no suffering.... best Holiday wishes to you and yours. Best hopes that the pups make a longway further... All the hopes and prayers for Pushy seemed to have helped, so I am sending Laurels loudest bay (VERY loud), Free's happy whine, PushyC@t's elegant strut, and Ford's endless energy (PLEASE take some, he's wearing me out) to Grandma and Grandpa's well being... Mutt_Lady Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 I'm very sorry to hear about Ilsa's grandpa and grandma. They will both be in my thoughts and prayers. What a looker that grandma is, doesn't look a day over two years old. 8) And those puppies...don't even get me started on them. Kevin is mad at you now! I have been calling him over every five minutes to show him a new thing I noticed in each of those photos. You've made an enemy. :P I want a puppy so bad - those tan Dobies are such lookers! How purdy they all truly are. :) Quote
Rusty&Chip Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 :o I think I'm going to die....Dobies are my absolutely favorite breed and those puppies are just soooo cute! Quote
