AllAmericanPUP Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 my dad is a stupid fricken jerk and is making me get rid of 3 of my dogs. I have decided to keep Eli and Keesha because they have problems that others wouldnt want to deal with, and Ozzy. Barkley and Shadow need homes. Barkley is an 18 month old, springer spaniel mix. House trained, crate trained, neutered, and UTD on shots. Will jump a 4 foot fence, so you must have a 6 ft fence or be willing to take him on walks 2-3 times a day. He's a pretty high energy dog. Doesn't walk very well on leash, but he learns quickly so I am sure it wouldn't be too hard to train him. he loves car rides, and loves to snuggle. and he's about 53lbs, with medium-long hair. Shadow is a 3 year old Great Pyrenees/Lab mix. she's short-medium haired, about 70-80lbs, but needs to lose at least 10 pounds. She's house trained, spayed, and UTD on shots. Pretty laid back dog. She also needs a 6ft fence or 2-3 walks a day, because she will jump a 4ft fence. She is good with dogs once she gets to know them. Great with cats. Very gentle. Sheeba will be up for adoption probably, but I am asking someone else right now because this person has always really loved Sheeba.. I'm in Central Illinois. tville_loser@yahoo.com for any info this is really breaking my heart, but i have no choice. and i can't wait til i get the heck out of this damn house and on my own. AllAmericanPUP Posted December 22, 2004 Author Posted December 22, 2004 or if anyone would be willing to foster them for me until i get on my feet. that could be 6 months to a year or more though.. Quote
Guest Mutts4Me Posted December 23, 2004 Posted December 23, 2004 OMG, I'm so sorry!!! The best I can offer is to a) contact local rescues and see if they can provide you with courtesy listings on Petfinder (some will do that for you), so you could hopefully keep them until they got adopted, if your dad was cool with that b) Change their Dogster pages so that they say "available for adoption" Sorry if you've already done those things, just all I could think of. AllAmericanPUP Posted December 23, 2004 Author Posted December 23, 2004 if I can get sheeba to Oregon, i have someone who will foster her. and she would foster shadow too..but shadow would have to be an outside dog..so i dunno.. and then my other friend is going to get back to me about ozzy after she talks to her husband tomorrow.. i'm also looking into getting some chain lin fencing, cause i can get a 50ft roll for like $80...so i'd get 2 rolls..and build like one huge kennel or 2 big ones..and i think my dad would let me keep them all if I got kennels... so we will see. thanx for the advice! AllAmericanPUP Posted December 23, 2004 Author Posted December 23, 2004 he won't let me have kennels.. :agrue: so still, if i can just get sheeba to oregon.. and ozzy will be fostered by a friend in WI.. i'm gonna try and find barkley a home out in the country somewhere or with a family that is very active, cause he needs someone like that. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 Well the person who was gonna take Ozzy..her hubby said no  Quote
__crazy_canine__ Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Well I know we dont exactly get along but PUP, thats awful. Is there any specific reason behind this? What will he do if you cant find them homes? I would offer to take Shadow if my mom would allow it but she wont. I really hope things work out. Quote
AllAmericanPUP Posted December 26, 2004 Author Posted December 26, 2004 my dad just likes to believe that we have too many dogs. he lives in some crazy dream world where he thinks all dogs should live on farms  he is hopefully going to go back on the road and work in like a month or so..we can only hope :) he wont do anything if I can't find homes like immediately. i'll tell him i'm working on it..and hopefully he'll shut up about it. as much as I really hate it, if I get all of the dogs outside(2 are inside right now) i think he will shut up for awhile.. he just really hates them being inside...he's anal like that. Rusty&Chip Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Oh PUP I'm so sorry :( I would foster one of them for you if I could but my parents think two dogs are enough. I hope you find wonderful homes for them....I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Quote
DogPaddle Posted December 26, 2004 Posted December 26, 2004 Maybe your Dad is just worried your going to become a collector. When I took Tyr in as a foster my dad was worried, when I had to take him back from his first placement he had "a talk" with me. He meant well. Anyway, you it sounds like at least you have the time to place them properly and interview folks well. As you can't keep them I hope you find the best possible homes for them so at least you can rest easy. Quote
CincoandDahlilasgirl Posted January 19, 2005 Posted January 19, 2005 Getting rid of Barkley  ? I'd take him but like some1 else said I think my 2 our enough right now. 2 dogs hard enoug to handle if excited already. Quote
