I know I should probably post this on the health board, but this board gets more traffic and I really would like an answer as soon as possible.

Pauly is sick tonight. He had some loose stool earlier, but he is vomiting and very, very, very *choke* gassy. Holy balls, does he stink!! He did eat tonight, but threw it up about an hour later. I know what to do for diarrhea, but am not sure whan I can give him to settle his tummy. Anything I can give him that might be in my medicine cabinet?

Hey hf.
Not quite sure what to recommend. Every once in a while Kira will get an upset tummy and throw up a few times. I kind of just like to let her be and not give her anything, aside from some water.
Hoping Pauly feels better.

Toto has a sensitive stomach and the doctor has us give him Pepcid. It happens every now and then he'll just have a bad tummy day and when we give that to him he seems to feel better.

Maalox and Pepcid AC are both safe to use, but Jeff might be on the right track, if Pauly picked up a bug or ate something disagreeable, sometimes it's better to let them get it out of their system and yak it out. I hope he feels better soon  .

I give 1 or 2 CC's of liquid pepto when Zebra is sick. Then he goes on a diet of baby food and white rice. It worked very well when zebra had very bloody stool and was throwing up.

I give Pepto if the vomitting continues for a while, I also give no food until the Pepto works and then the next day, of course boiled chicken, rice and a tablespoon or two of canned pumpkin for good measure.

Well, he's certainly acting like he feels better today. He's up and running and being as silly as usual where last night he was very restless and he just acted like he didn't feel good. Of course, he hasn't eaten yet, so I guess we'll see. I'm only going to give him a very small handful of food just to see how it sits on his stomach. If it weren't for the fact that he bile pukes on an empty stomach, I'd just skip his morning feeding. I hope it was just maybe some little bug.

Thanks, everyone. If it continues, I'll give him a little Pepto. I knew about pumpkin for diarrhea, but didn't know if it had any effect on vomiting.

Yeah... This happened another time someone had a similar problem... someone from the UK suggested morphine, and all the US people were :o confused, but I don't think we ever got a good answer.

So I'm confused again ;) Morphine is a controlled substance over here.

Thanks, Kat. I'm somewhat less confused... I think :)

Morphine... if I had kids, that's what *I'd* want in their medicine! :P

Pauly seems to be much better today. He kept his little bit of food down and he's bouncing around, goofy as ever. That eye watering gas seems to be diminished, too. Thank doG. :o
