3ofakind Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 My mom and dad have had 2 mini schnauzers for 12 years. They lost both of them this past year, Shadow just last week. They talked about not getting another dog but I knew it wouldn't last. The house just seemed too empty. So they are going to pick up their new Standard Poodle on Friday. She is a rescue from Florida, about 5-6 months old. She was found during clean up from one of the hurricanes. A breeders house was destroyed, the breeder died along with many of the dogs. We will be seeing them for Christmas. It will be much different without Jazmin and Shadow but I think Sophie will be a great dog for my parents. Quote
kendalyn Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 I'm so jealous! Someday I want another Standard Poodle. They are awesome dogs! And 6 months old!? I think that's a great age to get a dog. They're out of that really little puppy stage but still a puppy and ready to learn commands. I hope your folks enjoy her! And if they don't you can always send her here to Michigan.... :P Quote
imported_Kat Posted December 8, 2004 Posted December 8, 2004 how tragic that the breeder died with her furbabes. Good luck to your parents with their new pup. Remember to get some pics when you go to visit  Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted December 9, 2004 Posted December 9, 2004 the poodle must have only been a young pup at the time of the hurricanes I am sure your parents will give him a good life Quote
