Guest Anonymous Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 I have a Shar Pei who got some sandspurs in her paws this morning. Some of the spurs have fallen out but she's got one that's in between two of her toes and she won't let us get it out. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow and they will probably have to put her under to get it because she's so strong willed. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows of any helpful tips in the meantime that may help us get it out tonight. thanks Quote
courtnek Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 that was my question too.....maybe I know it as something else? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 It's a sharp tiny part of a plant that has a bunch of thorns around it and when a dog or someone steps on it it'll stick into the foot or leg and it hurts. Well, my son pulled out the worst one, so it looks like he'll be able to get the other two. My son wants to be a Vet when he grows up and from how he is handling the sandspurs in the dog's paws, I know he will become one. Neat picture with the Pepsi. Karen Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted November 23, 2004 Posted November 23, 2004 My son got them all out, I fed Preciapoo an ice cream bar at the same time my son checked her paws and pulled out the other two sandspurs. We triple checked and there are definately no more and the dog is feeling great, it's very obvious. There is no need to take her for that but it is just about time to go for something else so we will be going this week anyway and I will ask doc to check to be sure. Have a Super Great week! :D Karen Quote
